Dr. Lauren Beth Richter, DO

I have been a patient of Dr. Richter’s for close to 15 years and cannot speak of her highly enough. When I first saw her, she listened patiently to my concerns then put me on a supplement protocol. By then, I had seen so many doctors, most of whom attributed my fatigue, weigh gain, unexplained pain and walking difficulty to the ‘normal aging process’. I thank God I did not accept those assessments and persevered until I found explanations and help. She gave me my life back. I am forever grateful to her.

Dr. R did not examine me during any of my 4 visits. Told her of suspicion of thyroid problem. Did not pursue this. Turns out I had thyroid cancer! Spent visits typing on and looking at her computer. So unprofessional and a disgrace to the medical field.

I've been treated by Dr. Richter in both her CIM at Kernan location and now in her newer practice in Ellicott City. I have found her to be caring, a good listener, calm, and has a sense of humor. She listens to my situation without judgment. She is unassuming and without arrogance. She does tell me what I could/should be doing to improve my health. The options are integrative, which is exactly what I want.

Thorough and helpful. She “spoke my language “ regarding alternative therapies. She is not afraid to think outside the box. I do wish she hadn’t moved her practice to Elliott City as it’s too far from me.

She talks a good game, but after three years of dealing with her and her office, I have to say it was a huge waste of time and energy for me. If you're dealing with a chronic health issue, I would say the following: * The doctor never requests follow-up visits (I have to suggest them) * She doesn't care about follow-up labs (I have to recommend those too) * She seldom offers any sort of proactive ideas (She sent me an email that read "Looks like you're over medicated" but failed to suggest what I should do about it) * She has also made errors with my prescription (blamed it on the pharmacy) and failed to inform me when lab scripts were sent into the lab (seemed to blame that on me for not intuiting that she had done her job). * To be honest she seems to blame me for not having any health improvement (I have done everything she asked and more). Hopefully, you can find someone better to help you with your health journey!

My first session with Dr. Richter was most helpful. Not only does she take a detailed view of your condition but communicates her diagnosis with a clear picture of possible causes and a holistic approach to fixing the problem.

Dr. Richter ordered the tests that I wanted to have done, but I feel that I have tons of information now and did not get a lot of explanation about the results. It is difficult to get emails returned. I'm not sure if this was a good experience or a bad one. I'm not sure if the Genevoa Diagnostic testing is the a great assett to my health program or a waste of money. I'm left really not sure and a little uneasy.

I Love my Dr. would not change her for nothing! SHE IS VERY FIRM THOUGH! However, I know she care about me and my health as her patient.

Dr. Richter used terms such as "messed up" when discussing my health. Beyond this, she used language that made me feel that judgements were being placed on me, on parts of my body and how they function. During my appointment her manners compromised my ability to talk with her; I felt very uncomfortable. Her insensitivity left me feeling terrible and insulted. I have never had a doctor talk to me in a way that made me feel so uncared for or judged. On the upside, it is rare to find a doctor that would spend so much time talking with a patient. I have only had an initial appointment - it is unclear whether her future analysis will help me (she did suggest thorough tests).

Dr. Richter is the ONLY doctor that I have seen who not only listened to me but also helped me find ANSWERS to my presenting complaints. I can't begin to express my gratitude for her knowledge, patience and willingness to determine the CAUSE of a problem to improve my health.
