Dr. Lauren Jason Shatz, MD

Dr. Shatz did my Lasik surgery this summer and it was fabulous! He made sure at our first appointment that I understood the upsides and downsides of Lasik before proceeding. He took time to answer any and all questions I had, including silly ones about roller coasters, and always made me feel comfortable.

I am very grateful to Dr.. Shatz and his team at the Cataract Center for a corneal transplant. The transplant surgery went exceedingly well. The treatment I received was professional, yet made me feel very comfortable throughout the procedure. The best part, however, is the difference the transplant has made to my vision. When I wake in the morning, it seems like someone put a fresh coat of paint on the world. I see colors I haven't seen in decades, and the detail I see is also something I haven't experienced in years. Thank you.

I went to Dr. Schatz to get an up to date prescription for glasses and was told I had a melanoma in my right eye. At Sloane Kettering I was asked who the doctor was who had made a very early and correct diagnosis. I am very thankful to the friend who suggested I see him for a new eyeglass prescription.
