she betrayed me as a Patient-

I've been going to Laurie Green for 20+ years. Hands down best OB in San Francisco. Great.

Great elective C section experience.

I was a gynecology patient, not an obstetric patient. The glowing reports seem to be obstetric. What bothers me is that she does the usual pap smear and asks "Who is taking care of your breasts?" My breast care has been "farmed" out to a breast specialist and she just focuses on my vagina. It's difficult to imagine how she separates out my breasts when I have breasts and a vagina. As far as follow up, it's bad. Doing a routine pap smear is not enough. She does not ask questions about possible changes etc. And when I heard on the TV news that Fosamax should not be taken for more than 6 years, I asked if I should discontinue and she agreed. But if I had not raised the question, I would still be taking it at my own risk. Also, I have risk factors for ovarian cancer, which is hard to find out early because there are no symptoms. She never offers any of the news blood tests that I read about or anything else. Therefore, I conclude that it's not good medicine to perfunctorily do a pap smear… and that's it!

Dr Green has delivered both of my children, both of which were high risk pregnancies. She is always timely for appointments, returns phone calls within 30 minutes consistently, and also has called me at home over the weekend to see how I was recovering. She was compassionate yet professional when one of our twins passed away in utero, and she was quick to diagnose when I was having an issue during delivery. If it hadn't been for her quick response, we would have lost my son. Thanks to her, he was born by emergency c-section with no health issues, and she was calming to me during the whole emergency procedure. She is always kind and pleasant and yet very factual. Both my husband and I appreciate her and have not one bad comment to share. The only time I ever had to wait for her was when she had an emergency delivery and she was very apologetic about asking me to wait. She is hands down the best OB GYN that I've ever had.
