Dr. Lawandy Fawzy Bolis, MD

Came thru ER for crisis high blood pressure. Three days hospitalized under his care with no answers or appropriate medicine changes to correct my blood pressure. His approach was not to listen to my history and weigh my reactions but rather over medicate me with two per day of the four blood pressure category medications--eight blood pressure pills per day, I became a fall risk. Unable to function. Unable to sleep. Out of the many great hospitalists at NorthBay I should have terminated him and asked for another hospitalist.

Not only was he rude and unavailable, he was condescending and dismissive. If I hadn't been forced to see this doctor, I wouldn't have.

Dr. Bolis is a rude and arrogant physician and I wouldn't wish him on my worst enemy.

My mom had Dr. Bolis recently when she was in the hospital. Since he was not forthcoming with simple questions regarding my mothers care-he was removed from treating her. His bedside manners and lack of communication skills are very poor for a doctor. The question that he got defensive about was IV infiltration. I'm not sure which is worse the fact that he refused to explain it, Or maybe this doctor just doesn't know what iv infiltration is?

Avoid this Dr.

Overzealous in approach.prescribed testing follow up that was beyond reasonable.Will not call any simple non narcotic medication in without office visit. I waited and hour and half to be seen.Not a terrible Dr. necessarily, just difficult to deal with and I won't be back.

1. office waiting room is hot and dirty2. i am switching doctors because this man is curt, nasty and impatient. not very good characteristics for a doctor.

My mother was hospitalized for over 1 month. I called Bolis numerous times, about 17, and he only responded 2 times in over a month. I left messages at his office, and asked my mother's nurses in the hospital to have him call me. It was very stressfull for me since I'm the only relative my mom has here. Wouldn't recommend him at all.

The patient who said that Dr. Bolis was rude and discourteous was obviously rude and discourteous herself. My wife and I would never go to another doctor and Dr.Bolis is always available and gives maximum attention to his patients.

I could never ask for a better physician than Dr. Bolis. He took the greatest of care for my beloved husband John who recently passed on with stomach cancer. Dr. Bolis was with John from start to finish, not only helping John every way humanly possible but helping him spiritually, as well. And when John was admitted to Oak Hill, Dr. Bolis "smiling face" came everyday to help and encourage us. God had other plans for John and now he is resting eternally. I hope God blesses Dr. Bolis and his family for the great heart that he has. Now he is my doctor and I am proud to know him.
