Dr. Lawrence Stephen Kahn

Recently had a cataract removed by Dr Kahn. Everything went as planned. I was happy with the results. Dr Kahn was recommended to me by my primary physician and he didn't disappoint. I would highly recommend Dr Kahn and his staff. Everybody in his office are very friendly and courteous.

Dr Kahn 7t spent about 5 min.with me. Had to sign a paper agreeing to pay $60 to get a copy of my prescription. I'm told this is illegal. leaving he told me I didn't need another checkup. Rude. Do t know why. Exam with asst. Went fine. Got glasses elsewhere and cant wear them. Getting another opinion . Will not return.

I saw Dr. Kahn 3 times. First two visits he was nice but third time neither he or his assistant who was recording info would listen that the glaucoma eye drops caused me extreme itching and loss of night vision. Found another doctor in the area who performed glaucoma surgery and cataract surgery. Don't waste time - it is your vision and your insurance expense.

Dr Kahn initially was very pleasant. At a certain point he felt I was not keeping up with my medication (which I do) and since then he has become rude to and seems annoyed with any of my questions. I am still there because he is highly recommended by a friend but I am having second thoughts about continuing. I don't know what is so special about him.

Saw on May 17, 2018. From front desk to Dr. Kahn and his assistant all professional and personable.

Dr. Kahn and his staff are as friendly and helpful as can be. My wife's cataract replacement was done in a most professional way. It was as successful as could be expected. We would recommend everyone needing cataract help to Dr. Kahn.

Hard to put your trust in a doctor who can't remember to show up for a patient's Lasik procedure, went to his normal office hours instead. They did remember to collect the fee in advance though. Drove straight to his office, cancelled, and got the fee refunded.

Terrible Doctor!! The good reviews must be from family and friends, I found him to be rude, in a hurry, and did not take any time. and misdiagnosed my problem. Run far away from this office. staff rude when we tried tell them he was wrong and to help reduce our bill because we had to go somewhere else and pay more to have the correct problem fixed. now I am stuck paying this so called Doctor also. One star is one to many.

Do go there if you not prepared to spend a lot of money, even if you have insurance. This office is a joke

I felt compelled to write about my complete dissatisfaction with Desert Vista Eye Specialist. I went there to have TWO chalazions removed from my right eye. The annoyance of a chlazion is borderline continued madness and I specifically requested that BOTH of these be removed when I was in for the surgery. However, only one of them was removed, which is not what I requested. I was told 2 days later that the other one was merely lanced with instructions of applying heat to shrink it. I followed these instructions and it did not worked. When there, the doctor didn't even want to do the procedure as they made me wait nearly 2 hours as they were behind and everyone had left for lunch. How incredibly lazy and un-professional! I insisted about the procedure being done and the doctor literally "rolled his eyes" and said "Alright then" in an incredibly sarcastic way. What an awful setting and feeling when your about to have eye surgery by a so called professional. I also specifically… mentioned that this was the ONLY opportunity that I would have to have this procedure done as I am limited to only three total doctor visits per year and that this visit would reach that limit. And this guy doesn't want to perform the surgery I'm there for it because he's late for his lunch, and that's not an exaggeration as I overheard them discussing that fact. During the procedure he extracts one chlazion and then begins on the other and I'm obviously showing discomfort as the Novocain is insufficient in this location. The nurse alarmingly says, "Dr should you administer another injection," in which he returns, "No, I'm done here." So instead of stopping what he's doing, giving me another injection, and finishing the job correctly and removing the 2nd chlazion, he just stops and leaves the other mass in my eye lid, takes his gloves off, and goes to lunch. Now I'm under the impression that both masses in my eye are extractred, only to my horror to find out three days later after the swelling subsides that there's still one in there. I called to ask why and was told just to put a hot compress on it. Now I'm left in the exact same predicament of this mass in my eyelid, that I was in when visiting this office, and that was over two months ago. Moreover, I have no further insurance to have this issue corrected properly by someone else who is more competent and not so hungry. I found the entire situation very disconcerting and very agitated.
