Dr. Lawrence Dudley Odom, MD

My dream was to be a mom. I was fortunate to live in Savannah and my husband and I was referred to Dr Odom. We were blessed with 2 blessings age 17 & 15.

Today I had my first visit with Dr. Odom. An annual well-woman visit. I was fairly anxious about the visit and he had the perfect demeanor to help make sure I was relaxed. The entire office was incredibly efficient and I was walking out the door in 30 minutes.

Dr. Odom is an excellent doctor!!! I was a patient 23 yrs ago & have always said that he was the BEST doctor I've ever had!!!

Dr. Odum is the BEST. I was nervous about having a male OBGYN, but I am so glad I have a try. He is attentive, gentle, and very good at what he does. He explains things very well & most of all he makes me feel comfortable. I have had nothing but great experiences. In addition to Dr. Odum, his nurse has to be the best nurse on this planet.

I saw Dr. Odom strictly for monitoring ultrasounds while receiving care from another clinic in Charleston. I cannot say enough about how much he and his staff helped me. They were willing to code my visits correctly (as the underlying cause of my infertility, not as infertility), so that my insurance covered most everything. The clinic in Charleston would not work with us, and I'd walk out $500 to $1000 poorer after every visit. If you're thinking of seeing a doctor in Savannah for infertility, run--don't walk--to Dr. Odom's door. He will make this journey meaningful because it's about helping infertile couples for him, not about the money as it is for others. I will never forget that first ultrasound after we learned we were pregnant, when he said "I see two heartbeats!"

I was going to another group of doctors and someone told me how much they loved Dr Odom. I was not happy at all with the care, the office staff or even the doctors I was seeing. I made the switch and told all my girlfriends about him. Everyone that switched to him has been totally happy. He gave me excellent care following my son's birth and for all gyn care, afterwards. I hated to move away from Savannah, because I could not take Dr Odom with me!! I have never found another doctor with such a warm and caring bedside manner. I am not a fan of going to doctors, but he and his staff made it so easy and comforting. They don't make doctors like him anymore!

I have seen several doctors on my journey of miscarriage and infertility. Dr. Odom by far exceeds the rest in taking time with me and listening to my concerns. He always gives me copies of his notes and makes sure I understand everything. He is not at all pushy about a certain treatment regimen but instead fully explains all options, tells you what he thinks is best, and lets you choose what you are comfortable with. He will also speak with you personally on the telephone instead of having someone else do it. Judy, his nurse practitioner is very good as well.

Dr. Odom is the most thorough Dr. I have ever been around. He would study our chart and know it backwards and forwards. He often reminded us of things we had forgotten. His research is not respected by everyone but one day it will be.

Dr. Odom is a wonderful doctor. Many doctors rush through the appointment and don't spend enough time with patients, but Dr. Odom always takes enough time to fully explain everything and to answer all of your questions. He specializes in pregnancy loss prevention, which has been so important to me during my high-risk pregnancies. Most RE's and OB's take the "wait and see" approach to risky pregnancies, but Dr. Odom uses all kinds of drug therapies to try to ensure a good outcome of the pregnancy. He is a gracious, God-fearing man, and his concern for patients is always evident. Also, his staff is excellent and competent -- they are always so friendly and help me with the nightmare of dealing with insurance companies.
