Dr. Lea Moreen Blackwell, MD

I was diagnosed with breast cancer a few weeks ago and was fortunate to have Dr Lea Blackwell as my surgeon. She was able to operate on me a few days after the diagnosis but, more importantly, she provided incredible support and readily answered every question we had. I highly recommend Dr Blackwell if you have a surgical need. Her staff, particularly, Diane, were reliable, followed up promptly and made this process as easy as possible. Cancer is a scary diagnosis. Dr Blackwell and her team made dealing with it easy. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything...

She is the most empathetic and skillful surgeon. She gives the utmost care and time with each of her patients. Answers all of your questions and concerns. I would highly recommend with confidence Dr. Lea Blackwell to any one I know!

I usually don't write reviews but I just have to! I don't see how anyone could give less than 5 stars because I wish I could give more! There is no way I could go on with my life and not share my thoughts about Dr. Blackwell and her staff....correction, her work family. Lisa and Diane! You guys are the best and I'm so appreciative of your efforts! My primary doctor quickly called and scheduled me an appointment with Dr. Blackwell. Little did I know he picked the best doctor ever! From the moment I met Dr. Blackwell I knew I was going to be ok! I knew I was right where I needed to be, and I knew without a doubt I was in good hands! I could tell she truly cares about her patients and her staff! Several people suggested I get a second opinion, but I knew in my heart that Dr. Blackwell was more than qualified and her bedside manner couldn't possibly be more comforting! She is the absolute best and I knew it from the moment she walked into the room and introduced herself! I have… horrible anxiety but today I felt like my best friend was was taking care of me during my surgery. I've had several surgeries in the past and I have never felt that way before, ever! When you see her you will just want to hug her because if you are sitting in that chair, you will get everything you have been hoping for and desperately needing..answers, explanations, expectations, compassion, hugs and plan! You will get high quality care along with much needed compassion, understanding and comfort! I absolutely love Dr. Blackwell! I know you will too! She is truly amazing! Her staff is awesome too! They get stuff done for you! I worked in the medical field as a receptionist and medical assistant for 5 years and know how hard it can be to coordinate appointment and ensure referrals are taken care if while commuunicating with the doctor and keeping the patients well informed. These ladies go above and beyond! I can't even say enough about my experience with Dr. Blackwell and her staff! I have never had a doctor that is so personable and speaks to you on a such a comforting personal level. If you have questions she calls you herself! Seriously, I dont want to have cancer, but if I need any additional surgeries I know without a doubt that I'll be right back in that chair talking to Dr. Blackwell! And if I don't, I have a feeling I would randomly pop in to say hi because I would miss these wonderful people!!! I'm so thankful to have the best primary care doctor who also took the time to find the best breast cancer surgeon to send me to after receiving the upgraded biopsy results! Sorry this is so long but I really wanted to stress that when you are on such an emotional rollercoaster, it's nice to know the ride has not only been tested and is well built to ensure your safety, but it doesn't have to be absolutely terrifying! It's like the person that built the ride hops in the seat with you and says "ok, let's go, we are in this together! I trust my ability, and we are gonna make the best of this ride together!" Thank you Dr. Blackwell, Lisa and Diane! I wouldn't want to ride this ride without you! And thank you to everyone that was involved in my surgery today. What an awesome group of medical professionals! Totally compassionate, understanding and caring! My surgery experience could not have been better!

When I contacted Dr. Blackwell, she emailed me back directly. I contacted her re: my double mastectomy and her post-mastectomy bra which she has invented. Dr. Blackwell, personally sent me one of her post-mastectomy bras which has truly been a life saver following my surgery. This wonderful physician is dedicated to caring for others and is a gift to the medical profession and all of her patients. Thank you, Dr. Blackwell for never losing sight of the personal aspect of caring for another human being. Bless you always, Susan :)

Dr. Lea Blackwell is a compassionate, skillful and caring Doctor, My Experience with her was excellent and would recommend her as a Surgeon to everyone. After my surgery, Dr Blackwell had forgot to bring one of her magical bras for me and drove all the way back to her office to bring one back for me. Thank you Dr. Blackwell for your dedication and professional assistance.

Dr. Blackwell made me feel at ease after my first visit with her. I was very nervous about my upcoming surgery to remove a benign lump from my breast. Dr. Blackwell took her time to answer all of my questions and explain the entire process. She was down to earth and explained everything in laymen terms for me to understand. I felt like a was sitting with a friend of mine that I have known for years. The surgery went smooth with no issues. Dr. Blackwell was very professional and compassionate. I can't thank her enough. I would recommend her to anyone.
