Dr. Leah Barlavi, MD

Dr. Barlavi is an angel amongst us. She has been my OBGYN for years and has handled my health with the utmost of competence, compassion, and thoughtful guidance. She not only helped me prepare for the hopes of getting pregnant, she was my OB while I was pregnant and I would have had a very different pregnancy without her. She is always booked far in advance for a reason - she advocates for both you and your baby. Anyone who is lucky enough to be under her care is in the best possible hands.

Attempting to have a patient sign a consent form while in the middle of labor and under duress is beyond unprofessional and unethical. I’m surprised this woman is allowed to practice medicine at Kaiser. She should be kept as far away from woman’s health as possible.

She’s so respectful, knowledgable, non-judgmental, I feel so lucky to have her as my gyn doc! I met her when I was at the ER; her procedure was by far the least amount of pain I’ve ever experienced in Bartholin cyst abscess drainage, which tends to really hurt. I’ve been so impressed by her approach and respect in terms of care, giving me full information and getting consent on my treatment, pain management, and just treating me like I’m an intelligent human being. So thankful to have her as my gyn doc!

If I could give Dr. Barlavi more than 5 starts I would. She delivered my twins two years ago, and I am currently under her care to deliver my third baby boy in the next two weeks. She is the best doctor period. She is not only extremely smart and knowledgeable, but she CARES; she does care for her patients and takes the time to address every concern and question. I have been blessed to have her during my pregnancies and during the process of getting ready to get pregnant. I am extremely thankful.

Like the previous reviewer, I chose to see Dr. Barlavi because of previous good ratings. What a mistake. In addition to being, cold, rigid, dismissive, condescending and low in empathy, her lack of emotional and clinic intelligence were disturbing. I’m guessing that the previous positive reviewers had such poor care prior to seeing Dr. Barlavi that she was a step up relatively speaking, but that too is frightening.

I selected this doctor after reading the rare reviews on this website, in particular her warm beside manner and compassionate nature. Dr. Barlavi was cold and fast. She never smiled once. Not sure what happened to the lovely bedside manner I read about here, as this was not my experience.

I still can't believe how lucky I was to find such an AMAZING doc!
