Dr. Lee Phillip Smith, MD

I can't begin to say enough nice things about Dr. Lee Smith. My son had his tonsils and adenoids removed at age 4 by him and he was amazing, as well as his team (big shout out to Colleen Kearny especially - she is so helpful when I am making appointments). My son has had to return since, possible tubes - due to a lot of ear infections. Dr. Smith didnt opt for surgery right away (as many doctors do) he found ways to help my child first. Dr. Smith has amazing bedside manor, he called back late one night after surgery for a question I had at the time. He actually called me this past Sunday (YES, on a Sunday) to assist again! I highly recommend Dr. Lee Smith and his offices. Dr. Smith was recommended by many others and I am so glad I listened. A++

Saw Dr. Smith 2x with my infant He was kind and courteous. Called to get my daughter an appointment as she has had 15 ear infections over the past 7 months, the current infection has not cleared up since March with 6 antibiotics, now she developed allergies to those antibiotics and we are out of options . Pedestrian said she needs to be seen.. The staff who answered the phone was rude and dismissive. Offered me an appointment in July. I said we cant wait per the pediatrician can I see another doctor in the practice? . She said no... we don't share patients- now you lost a patient. Pulled my daughters file, found another DR who SQUEEZED her in that day and said her infection is so bad she is on the verge of hospitalization. The receptionist had the nerve to tell me do you know how many hysterical parents call for kids ear infections? They aren't an emergency. I even asked if my doctor called would that change anything, she told me no. Would never step back there even if they paid me.

I waited 3 months for my appointment. Felt very rushed and Dr. Smith really did not have a good bed side manner.

Dr. Smith refused to perform a basic scope procedure over concerns of COVID19. Was argumentative, unprofessio disrespectful & transphobic. He reluctantly performed scope after our insistence stated he couldn't offer any help except referral to pain management clinic. He claimed we were hurting his feelings when we questioned his pain Mgmt suggestion & literally left the room claiming he felt attacked, while leaving our 16yo crying in the exam chair at the thought of pain pills instead of diagnosis to chronic painful sore throat w stabbing pain in trachea area. His NP Marsha came in after Dr Smith walked out to suggest we see a diff Dr in the practice who is 'transgender friendly & had experience with LGBTQ kids'. What the heck does gender or identity have to do with treating medical conditions. Horrible doctor and worse human being. When Dr Smith returned to exam room he wanted to 'void the visit & not charge insurance company' since we seemed unhappy w his services. We refused his… offer.

If you looking for the best Ent for you child , doctor smith is the best choice .

Watch out for Dr. Smith! He charged us over $700 for a 10 minute visit with no tests or procedures. Other ENTs we later spoke to agreed this was outrageous. When our insurance wouldn't cover the charge, Dr. Smith sent a collections agency after us. His office gave us the runaround for months and was totally unhelpful. We would never recommend Dr. Smith to anyone.

Perhaps Dr. Smith is good at doing surgeries but he has terrible bedside manner. He's very rushed and shows no empathy for what parents and children are going through. Several members of our family have met him because my child has a host of issues and everyone agrees that his bedside manner needs a lot of work.

Do your own research before saying yes to ear tubes ! Ask lots of questions to the doctor , and make a note of it. 1-ear tubes may stay 6-12 months we were told by Dr. Smith..it's been 2 years 2- when I asked if there was a correlation between tubes staying too long and and ear drum perforations - he said no correlation.. Do your own research---- if the T tube has been in place for a prolonged period of time (over two years), the drum may be slower to heal.

I have never met a more caring doctor or professional staff.
