Dr. Leonard John Cerullo, MD

Back in 2002, Dr. Cerullo preformed brain surgery on my mom who had a brain tumor. She was told she was going to have to relearn how to talk, walk, swallow, ect after the surgery. But, she woke up from the surgery cancer free and healthy. Dr. Cerullo is an AMAZING doctor who saved my mom’s life. She saw countless doctors, and none of them were as good as Dr. Cerullo. All these years later, I now have my mom, home, healthy and cancer free. He saved her life.

I had a terrible experience with this doctor. He’s extremely unprofessional

I was having serious pain in my back. Doctor looked at my back. Then asked if I knew someone in Detroit. I said no just attending a conference. Dr. Said I can see the spasms running in your back. I think you'd b better served going to hospital for treatment. I'm grateful for training me how to do things that have kept me from surgery for about 27 years. I moved from Chicago, but have nothing but praise for Dr. And his staff. Thanks

Dr. Cerullo has been my doctor for almost 25 years. I first saw him in 1990 and he did everything possible to avoid me having surgery. I finally had to have surgery in 1993. He was so caring and made the process easy. About 8 years later, I was in a skiing accident and saw doctors in NYC as I lived there. I was told I needed immediate surgery, had it, and had the same pain after the surgery. I flew home to see Dr. Cerullo who examined me and my MRI's from before and after the surgery. Nothing had changed. Dr. Cerrulo AGAIN worked his magic andbI have been pain free 15 years. I just was involved in another accident and have 3 herniated discs. I am flying to Chicago to see the only doctor I truly trust.

Not surprised by other negative reviews. Was only 17 when his mistakes in surgery took life of my mother. Our family sued and won. Not that any amount of money can replace our mother!

Terrible should have sued. Misleading and deceiving. His inexperience has left years of pain and permanent disability. After the brain surgery he had his assistant contact me and set up a t.v. interview claiming how good he was so I would not sue him for negligence. Unreal.

This office has lost my scans, mailed documents and faxed documents. The prescription for my custom brace was miswritten and will not be approved by insurance as is. Required medical forms and notes have not been sent to the orthotist's office despite three weeks of faxes, mailed forms and phone calls. Dr. Cerullo's assistant does not return phone calls or call when he says he will. Delay of treatment for weeks with debilitating condition. Nobody in this office seems to care.

I've been a patient of Dr. Cerullo's for over 20 years, off & on. He always shows the patient respect, care & a wonderful, easing humor that is spot on. He inspires patients to feel confident in their care, an grouding hope for their future & they are filled with gratitude & respect. As a nurse, I've seen him do this with all his patients. I remember being in the hospital post op: the group of residents would follow him, as he smiled at the patients, & take notes on what he was saying. What a wonderfully gifted man, both in scope of practice & in the nitty-gritty details of care-what a legend here in our country. I'm so graced to have had him as my Doctor. Thank-you, Sir.

the only reason we didn't take legal action against him was because we were so young. He ruined the life of our mother and consquently, the lives of our family. He was a resident, never gave us an explanation and moved on. Never was held accountable which we regret - probably did wonderful things for people later in his career, but he wasn't capable in the beginning and we paid dearly for his mistakes.

I feel so blessed to have found Dr. Cerullo. After months of pain and discomfort and many physicians and neurologists it was Dr. Cerullo that finally properly diagnosed my pain. With his expertise and recommendations I am now pain free. He also was concerned and recommended follow-up MRIs on a meningioma on my brain. Other physicians disregarded it as a small benign growth and felt no need to keep an eye on it. Dr. Cerullo was correct. Within 9 months it had grown. He has treated me with enormous respect and compassion. He is very accessible and down to earth. Love this man!
