Dr. Leonard Gene Hering JR., MD

I waited 7 months for an appointment, then waited over an hour in the exam room only to be forced to sit and listen while he pontificated about mental health. He reduced my list of symptoms down to two and then told me they are most likely mental health related. When I told him I was disappointed in his behavior, and that he was the stereotypical male doctor who dismisses and minimizes symptoms: HE JUSTIFIED HIS BEHAVIOR BY FORCING ME TO LISTEN TO A STORY ABOUT HIS MOTHER EXPERIENCING THE SAME THING AND THEREFORE ITS NOT POSSIBLE FOR ME TO FEEL THAT WAY. This will be my last experience with a male doctor. Dr.Hering removed a mass from MY body and he did not submit what he removed to pathology.His diagnosis did not match what was removed!!!!

Lazy, rude, condescending. Terrible bedside manner or lack there of. Disregarded symptoms, and then proceeded to teach me about the reproductive system. No treatment, no follow up. Was left in terrible pain, feeling hopeless, and devastated. People don't go to doctors for fun, they go because they have pain and need treatment not to massage egos. Respect, listen, and treat. Do your job.

Wrong diagnosis

He delivered my baby and it was the most traumatic experience I've ever had. It was very clear he just wanted to go home or had plans - it was a Saturday night. The nurse ,my husband and I had a good thing going with the pushing And had a really good rhythm going and he came in guns blazing and forced a vacuum to speed up the process ( I had only been pushing maybe 10 -15 minutes ). I was barely able to consent to the vacuum before it was already inside me. He was insanely rude , aggressive, short tempered basically just an a** the whole experience and didn't even give me a fair shot. They had to use three different vacuums - I heard it like ripping off my babies head because it was working properly. All in all he was the most aggressive doctor I have ever experienced and really traumatized the whole experience for me. Oh ! He also refused to numb the stitching area before he started because "I won't feel anything because of the epidural" , WRONG I felt everything ! ???? Avoid him… at all costs.

I went in here with a problem I had for years. I told him how my primary tested me for this certain things and he basically told me I’m an idiot and who ever prescribed me the meds is an idiot. Rolled his eyes and slaps forehead when you ask simple questions. Couldn't even read lab results right! I had to correct him. This guy is preforming surgery’s and can’t read a simple lab result? Read all the reviews these women are not lying! How this guy still has his license is mine boggling!

Dr Hering blamed my health problems on mental health which resulted in my needing emergency surgery to save my life. I could have died!!

Dr. Hering makes me feel comfortable, takes the time to listen, explains everything, reviews information or remembers it before he sees me, has called himself with test results when I was nervous, stayed close by following a complicated surgery... a very caring doctor.

Very thorough, and not in a rush. I was asked several questions regarding my health and personal life, and given plenty of opportunity to respond, then ask my own questions, and they were answered in a curteous and thorough manner.
