Dr. Leslie Tar, MD

This review is about Dr. Tar's staff and overall experience. Dr. Tar might be an excellent physician but his staff is a hot mess and they lie. I've been an established patient for years, and always compliant. I've not missed appointments. I've always gotten my lab work done and even the yearly eye exam that's required. A month ago I had to cancel my appointment and reschedule it and the soonest they could get me in was the 17th of this month, not a problem except my medication ran out. I called three times in one week requesting a refill just enough to get me through to the 17th. The staff said they passed on messages and someone would call back, but nobody ever called me back. The third time I called I explained to the lady we're going into the weekend and the medication I take is something that can't be skipped and that nobody had called me back etc. She asked me if I'd had my eye exam done and I said of course everything's done and she said she would have to call the eye… doctor because they didn't receive the results, which is a chronic problem with their office. I gave her the eye doctor information and I told her I had the results with me to bring to my appointment as well. I also told her that a physician can't let you go without medicine AND deny you an appointment sooner. They have to choose one or the other.. because that's patient abandonment. The day before my appointment I get a discharge letter. No phone call, no explanation in the letter, just find another doctor in 30 days. Of course I called back today and you can never speak to the physician. She said she would send a message to have him call me back but of course there was no phone call back. If the staff is lying I'll never know. I really thought Dr. Tar was more on top of things and unfortunately even if he called to apologize it would be too little too late. Additionally, when I went to the pharmacy to ask if they had called my medicine in the first thing they said was Oh Dr. Tar's office, always a problem. The last appointment I had a few months ago. I had told him that his secretary never gave him the message when I had a lupus flare up and my primary care physician had to prescribe my rheumatology medicines. He stated she had been fired. There was a stable staff. In the last 6 months there has not been. Hopefully he sees this review.

Filthy and dishonest.

Had an appointment Explain to the nasty receptionist that I needed to cancel to due an infection; rescheduled; cancelled again for surgery; rescheduled; had to cancel again because of an allergic reaction; rescheduled and the day of my appointment nasty receptionist tells me my appointment has been cancelled and that I am no longer welcome at their practice. WOW just WOW. I'd give them 0 stars but not an option

If I could give him a zero, I would. I was his patient when his practice was in Pittsburgh pa. I went to his office faithfully for 4 years and only saw him 3 times. His wife , Karen would see me every 6 weeks. All I ever got was prescriptions for more pills. I was on so many strong meds I could hardly function. One day I went for my usual appointment & there was a typewritten note taped to the door that said he was no longer seeing patients. What the heck!! No warning..nothing! I waisted 4 years if my life going there for help.

PL pay close attention to the bad reviews. Valid.

Bad physician and I don't know what his wife's like but I'm sure it's the same yelling across the waiting room for a nurse to come in I'm not happy with his answering service as far as a front desk person goes Angie I think she's very very rude

I would rather wait to see a good doctor than rush to see a bad one. Sometimes people waiting in Dr. Tar's office get impatient with waiting their turn. however, believe me it is worth the wait. You will never find any practitioners who will treat you as well as he and his staff do. Karen and Dr. Tar listen to you and they take care of you like family. So, it is worth the wait.

My husband signed into the hospital with stomach pain. He did not let me know he had metastatic cancer. Bayfront referred me to Dr. Tar have him help me with creating a will, durable power of attorney and healthcare surrogate. He came into the hospital and met me at my husband's bedside. He explained everything can I had the documents in 24 hrs. I would recommend Dr. Tar for end of life concerns. He is kind and compassionate.

I guess some people have nothing to do but to try to tear down others. I have been very happy with my interaction with Dr. Tar and his staff. A lot of drug seekers go to his office for narcotics. When they do not get them, the get angry and write false, nasty comments. Sad.

I will always be grateful for the care and kindness provided to me and my husband. My husband has no passed but Dr. Tar care for him to his last day. He died of complications of lupus and dementia. Dr. Tar made home visits and helped me protect my assets when my husband had to go to the nursing home. Thank you Dr. Tar
