Dr. Linda Kathryn Forsberg, PhD

Avoid this woman like the plague, if at all possible. If you are seeing her for an evaluation for a new job, she will fail you, because she decides she doesn’t like that you sneezed. Rather than perform her duties in a professional manner, she will berate you, insult you, and demoralize you before she even begins her evaluation. It is shocking to me, that she gets away with such despicable behavior. She is a disgrace to the world of psychology.

BE AWARE!!! This "doctor" is extremely unprofessional. My husband and I have been trying to obtain his medical records for close to 2 months and she will not call us back. We have called and left dozens of voicemails and we have heard nothing! DO NOT go to her. Waist of your time and your money. She should not have this job!

Dr. Forsberg seemed to have a personal issue with me. Commenting on my physical appearance (my face) as well as making me feel as if I had an alcohol issue. I admitted to drinking beer (not always but 6 being the most). Now I wish I would have lied. Don’t think that honesty is the best policy with dr. Forsberg. I don’t lie and would never lie to get a job but dr. Forsberg has made it clear that her ego is more important that your career. I would not recommend her to anyone and would recommend public safety departments choose a doctor that had an interest in your department hiring the the right men and women for the job.

I found Dr. Forsberg to be pleasant and professional. The interview was thorough as it should be.

She is awful and ruins people's lives. All for money. She is worthless and should never be used by any departments.

I first was told about Dr. Forsberg through other people in the law enforcement community when I was made a conditional offer of employment by a public safety agency. Everyone told me to be careful, she's known to be rude and has a heavy personal bias against all alcohol. Most people actually told me I should lie. I wished I would have. Her reputation certainly preceded her, as she was less than polite and when asked about my drinking habits the conversations changed and she went from mostly professional to absolutely irate. I drink on rare occasion when catching up with old friends and never go too far. On top of that I never drive after drinking and have never once gotten into any trouble. Dr. Forsberg told me, "if this was your police interview right now, you would fail. There is not a doubt in my mind about that." She went on to tell me that my "drinking habits" are unacceptable and that I cannot be dependable. I have never once missed work or even shown up late or hungover, if I… did drink. On top of that I drink far less than I did in college, or than most current college students do or most police officers do. I heard a rumor about Dr. Forsberg, which I admit I cannot verify, that she abhors all alcohol because she had an abusive and alcoholic ex-husband. I admit that I cannot verify it, so it should be taken as a grain of salt, however after meeting with her, there is not a single doubt in my mind that some past event has led Dr. Forsberg to hate all amount of alcohol and will fail anyone regardless of other ability to perform the job. If you are wondering about me, I applied for a part-time security position at an agency that also has security within the same department. They run their security personnel through the same background and hiring process as their police officers. I have a squeaky clean back ground, never have I once experimented with illicit drugs, taken prescription pills without a prescription, tried marijuana, been arrested, been detained, received a traffic violation, or been involved in any amount of litigation. My background investigator was quite pleased. The next week after my background was completed and I had done a background interview, I had a final interview with the director and was made a conditional job offer. Serveral days later on the same week, I was sent to Dr. Forsberg. I think it goes without saying at this point that I do not think too highly of Dr. Forsberg. She also attempted in 2009 to change the standards of the MCOLES board so that only a licensed psychologist who also specializes in dealing with law enforcement officers can do psych exams. While the standards have not been changed, most agencies have followed the recommendation, and Dr. Forsberg almost has a monopoly on police psych exams in south east Michigan, as she sets out on a personal vendetta against alcohol.
