Dr. Linda Liu, MD

I was a patient of Dr. Liu's for a number of years and always promised myself to never return and finally made that move and actually found a GOOD doctor. Dr. Liu is rude, shutting down any question I had regarding my condition. Telling me that it is what it is and nothing can be done!? Really? What do I need you for then? I was self-diagnosing for years due to her dismissive attitude. After I started with the new endocrinologist, he ran a large number of tests and was able to stabilize my health within couple of months. Also, discovered that she had been prescribing the wrong medication for YEARS!!! Completely not acceptable, poor staff experience overall. Never, ever have I had such bad physician.

Most of the endocrinologists in this area have no availability until the summer. Dr. Liu has plenty of open appointments, most likely because she is terrible. I have NEVER encountered such a rude, condescending doctor. She interrupted me every time I spoke. Further, her understanding of reproductive hormones and nutrition is archaic. A trip to her office isn't worth the copay!!!!!

IMO...Rude, not comfortable talking with patients. I have been told "stop, I ask the questions"when attempting to talk to her. Walks in and demands paperwork (don't try to speak before you hand them to her, either), reviews it, gives feedback on blood sugars and attempts to walk out (barely looking up). If you try to stop her w/ a question, she has one hand on the door knob and ready to run from you. She would be much better in a research environment instead of patients. I'm certainly not looking for a friend in her but she is a ridiculous physician on many levels, in my opinion. Interesting too, I, twice asked about being placed on an insulin pump and she immediately indicated "NO". On my first appt with a new physician, I was placed on an insulin pump. I was told by reps that they have tried many times to work with her and she would not see them. Why would this be in her field? Very alarming to me. An insulin pump has helped me profusely and I feel that I wasted so much time… with her only because she had a "MD" after her name. I have the highest regard for doctors and have never written an review in my life. I'm just taken back by this person.

Dr. Liu has been my endocrinologist for more than 10 years and has been with me through multiple thyroid and para-thyroid issues. Friends go to her for diabetes. She isn't super warm and fuzzy, but she knows my case well and is always on top of the next right thing.

What other people have posted about her manner is true--cold and insensitive is also what I experienced. She doesn't spend much time with you, and I get the feeling that if she couldn't bill for a physical exam, she wouldn't bother to see you at all, she would just check your lab results and base her management on that. On the plus side, her clinic always runs on time and it is easy to get an appointment.

Today, I visit this web site and find Dr. Linda Liu is rated 2.5 points, I do not surprise her low rating. Many years ago I was one of her patients and had to leave her office due to her extremely rude manner. She should understand a doctor should have kindness and good manner

Her bedside manner leaves much to be desired. She hardly smiles while speaking to her patients. What I liked most is that she seems to be very experienced and knowledgeable in her field, but at the same time, she gives the impression that she's very strict and rigid. She tells you what to do with a "my way or the highway" attitude. This manner might work for some patients, but not for me. I need a doctor who has high standards but shows some flexibility and who emanates more empathy towards her patients.

Dr. Liu may be a good physician but as others have mentioned, bedside manner isn't the most inviting. I often feel rushed in her appointments and have to interject time for my questions otherwise she'll be out the door before I say a word. I understand how healthcare is always on a time crunch but I would prefer a physician who is a little more involved and open. P.S. I work in healthcare.

Stay away. Similar to what another doctor mentioned. She is extremely rude. Very very poor bedside manner. Yells at patients. Does not listen nor pay attention. Both staff and doctor listed incorrect medication for patient. All signs of red flag.

I found Dr. Liu to be a very knowledgeable doctor. I am glad to have found an Endo doctor i can work with in addressing my medical challenges. She is not the warm and fuzzy type, but she asks the right questions, listens to you and is very to the point and direct. I enjoyed my visit and plan to stay with her.
