Dr. Lisa Talerico, PhD

My appointment was supposed to be 120 minutes and it only lasted 15. She was evaluating me for PTSD and the beginning of the evaluation she seemed irritated and I was really confused to why she even was when this is the job she chose to have. She wouldn’t let me finish talking and would interrupt me even though she said I wasn’t telling her enough. The way she was responding about my trauma was actually disturbing. The fact that she treats clients with mental health issues honestly baffles me. Seeing other poor reviews of her does not surprise me at all. By far the worst experience ever please do something about her please

Lisa consistently ended our online sessions 10 minutes early and at first I accepted this because I thought perhaps the this was par the course. At the 30 minute mark was when she usually started "wrapping things up" and often times she didn't respond to my questions or concerns in the interest of ending the session 10 minutes early. The last straw was she jumped to conclusions about something I was saying, ignored me when I tried to clarify, and then went on say the issue was with me without explaining why. She then sent me a worksheet and told me to fill it out without really telling me what the worksheet was about. "Just fill out the worksheet" she said. She would have had a lot more credibility and shown a lot more empathy if she bothered to explain what this magic worksheet was about, especially after dismissing my questions. I mean she ended the session 12 minutes early, and on top of that it would have never gone over since the platform automatically ends the sessions at… 50 minutes. If nothing else, I would not hire her because of her poor work ethic.

Went to her in hopes of getting some help with anxiety and depression, ONLY doctor I've ever visited with that left me in tears after talking to her. I'm not sure how she got her practice but it sure wasn't by being helpful and listening to the patients. Just a waste of time and money.

This person should not be in this job, she's condescending and rude.

I have been working with Dr. Talerico, through online sessions for around 6 months. I've been through a ton of therapist in the past, and she has been my favorite by far. It's a more interactive, conversational feel comparatively to a lot of therapist I have been to. Personally, I am not looking for someone just to listen to my problems, I am looking for someone to help me through my issues and help me to resolve them through understanding my own thoughts and distortions. She is very well versed in CBT, and actually uses tools to guide and better understand your thought patterns, and helps lead you to processing the things you are dealing with. (which I have had therapist give me a 'silent treatment' in the past, when I don't know how to answer or where to start) She also has experience with the NA/AA community, and with has LGBT+ knowledge.

I had a quick session online with Dr. Lisa Talerico and I recommend that NOBODY should ever see this unprofessional. She is abrupt, insensitive and rude. She will make you feel terrible about seeing other doctors for your health that isn't in her field. She questions your choices and makes you feel bad about yourself before she "counsels" you and she is very mean and unhelpful. If I could I would give her zero stars.
