What Happened?

guess something happened, visit was cancelled , not avail until jan 2021 dr takes time and is good, front desk sucks

Doctor Book has not been in her office for months now. Her staff do not call patients to cancel appointments and lie that they have called and left a message on a particular day only there is no record of any incoming calls or message on That particular or surrounding date. The staff are rude, lazy and they falsify documentations.

Dr. Book is very thorough and took the time to speak with me and my family. She cared about what I had to say and was very thoughtful in her approach and understanding. I highly recommend Dr. Book to anyone needing great care.

I haven't had a doc in a very long time that actually would spend over an hour. She explained, reviewed info she had, answered questions, comforted me when I broke down because I am dealing with more than one issue that is not in her field. She made a plan, wrote it all down, told me what she still needed. I've read the reviews that chastised her. That is too bad. She is firm, bright and strong. Some people cannot handle that. I was on overload when I left but for the first time, felt secure in my decision to choose her. Her office staff probably goes through quite a bit, but they have a professional demeanor, make sure they call me back if I have a question, even apologize if they didn't get back to me the same day. (I don't expect that especially when the office closes on Fridays at 1:30 and I called at 12:45. ) If it had been an urgent matter, I know they would have called me back. There are not enough Lori Book's in this world and while she did overwhelm me with… information, I knew she would be there, as will her staff, to help me through what I am experiencing. I have been a client/patient of Dr. Book for nearly 10 years. And even though she is thorough, at times a bit arrogant, but overall professional and competent, for convenience reasons, I have endured the unfriendly, unprofessional & misplaced arrogance of her office staff. After most visits I vow to take the time to find another endocrinologist & then I don't due to time constraints. I do not understand how such a capable physician is blind to the poor customer service provided by her front office staff.

It was awful experience. She was an hour late (first appointment after lunch), she was rude, she verbally attacked me, would not listen to my history and stated none of my past Drs. information was needed because she was the best. I would rather pay cash to go to my original Endo rather than insurance paid appointments with Book. Staff was rude and it took forever to get the appointment because phone calls were not returned in a timely manner. Can I give this Dr. zero stars?

Patient of Dr Book X 3 years and very satisfied. Dr Book is extremely thorough and gets to the root of the problem and gets you back to health. Highly recommend Dr Book and Elaine Doherty.

I was VERY happy with Dr. Book. She was very personable, easy to talk to and she listened. She spent almost 2 hours with me, and gave me several options! She was wonderful! I will keep her!! :)

Dr. Book is very thorough and reviews your portfolio like no other doctor I know. She even sends you home with updated instructions to follow. She takes your questions, spends time to answer them and makes sure you know how your health is progressing. She is honest about areas that need improvement which may be a bit difficult to swallow but ultimately helps you as a patient. Making appointments earlier in the day helps with scheduling.
