Very knowledgeable, and spent time with me to explain my condition, and to answer my questions.

Doctor Direnfeld is very loyal and heavily biased towards whomever signs his checks as is clearly seen in his IME reports which always favors the insurance companies. He tries to minimize or deny the pain and suffering a patient is going through justifying the denials of treatment plans to bottom-line save his clients money. He will never report in favor of a patient, and thus risk jeopardizing his relationship with the insurance companies who bought him. He misquotes and even fabricates statements by the patient in his reports to justify what in the end pleases his clients. He makes very good money pleasing his customers. He has a reputation from many of his peers as being a tool of the insurance companies. He is unethical and without conscience.

Patients of industrial-W/C/auto accident injuries, beware of this physician! Dr. Direnfeld is by all means a defense medical examiner. He is very talented and trained,(Also instructing) in the practice of in generating reports that are murky, out of context in reporting facts and encapsulated with language to provide burden of proof for Insurance Carrier's defense attorneys. Never attend an appointment with this physician without someone with you, preferably your own, (Not the INS.) nurse case manager and most of all record the IME appointment. Hawaii has case law that allows recordings of IME appointments.
