Dr. Lucius Blanchard, MD

I waited for OVER an hour for my appointment! Not only did I register on line that took 20 minutes, I was still early for my appointment. The male receptionist checked me in and after 45 minutes of waiting, I double checked to see where I was on schedule only to wait for an additional 15 minutes to find out it will be a few more minutes. I’m ready to check out because this is so wrong. There must’ve been at least 7 patients that came after me and has been called before me.

I’ve had a horrible skin infection for 3 years and acne for 37 years. I was horrified to be told by this doctor that there was nothing he can do for me. My condition affects my ability to be hired (I’m an aesthetician). It affects my relationships. I am on Medicaid and am poor. He wouldn’t talk to me about accutane unless I spent hundreds I don’t have on elective Aesthetic procedures and products that, as an Aesthetician, I have already tried and don’t work. He doesn’t listen, and clearly doesn’t care about his patients. If you don’t know how to help maybe you shouldn’t be in this profession.

Blanchard is rude, horrible bed side manners, uncompassionate, spent a total of 30 seconds each time my daughter went. 1st visit took 30 Seconds he said what my daughter had on her face was excema ordered his assistant to call pharmacy and order medications and left (30 seconds) we had to got to an emergency appointment a week later since my daughters condition worsened with the medication. He walked in he not take a look at her face told his assistant to order some other medication and for my daughter to stop using the other medication he had prescribed) walked to the door opened it as we are asking him questions...: he is walking out turned around seemed upset and bothered by our questions answered only one of my questions(does she have excema?) he said no I don't know what she has .... and left. If there was 0 stars or a minus star i can give this OLD man I would ...he should be retired and not practicing medicine anymore since he seems bothered cause he has to see patients.… He acted like he was doing us a favor like if we were not paying for the services.... will never go back.Sad

Had an 8:45 appointment for my 92-year-old mother. We arrived ahead of schedule. At 9:20, I inquired as to when we would see Dr. Blanchard. I was told there were four people ahead of us. Four people? For an 8:45 appointment? When I told the front desk that I had a 10:00 appointment I had to get Mom to, she shuffled some papers and said there was one person ahead of us. We were called shortly thereafter and shown to the exam room. The nurse took some information, and I very respectfully told her we had a 10:00 appointment and were rather short on time. She was gracious and nodded and I could hear her tell Dr. Blanchard in the hall. A very annoyed Dr. Blanchard came in the room and was brusque and dismissive. He spent two minutes with us and prescribed a cream for the sores on Mom's face (which she called a rash, to which he said, "There's no rash. There's no rash.") Very disrespectful. Then he said to come back in two weeks when we had more time. Seriously. I understand from people… that he is a very good doctor with a marginal bedside manner, but bedside manner aside, he needs to be mindful of people's time (especially elders) and for sure be a little more astute about the optics of his behavior. We have a follow-up appointment scheduled which I plan to cancel. There are other good doctors out there who know how to treat their patients. There is no excuse for ill manners.

Dr, Blanchard refused to change his his treatment for my rash after I told him Tricare would not cover the cream he prescribed. He insisted that I call a second specialty pharmacy (the first one in Las Vegas couldn't get payment approval). But instead of calling the second one he recommended in Chicago because I knew what the answer would be, I called Tricare and they ascertained that would not cover that $9600 cost, period, end of discussion. The one cream they do cover is Vytone and Dr. Blanchard refuse my request when I asked for a prescription for Vytone.

I am a retired registered nurse. Everything about the visit and treatment was perfect. Staff lovely. I would definitely go back. The office was clean and it was easy to park. Thank you Dr. Blanchard!

Very understanding to your problem.

This is a busy office run by a competent, efficient staff. It is a paperless office; the usual repetitive forms have been replaced by a user-friendly computer system. Dr. Blanchard is polite, knowledgeable, and took the time to give me a more thorough examination than I expected . He solved my problems in one visit, and said there is no reason to even have a follow-up, that most doctors would have required, usually seemingly to pad their bill. This office is top notch and professional. I wonder if the bad reviews here are for some doctor from another planet with the same name. I found Dr. Blanchard to be terrific, and recommend him highly.

I had to wait one full month to get an appointment. When my appointment finally came today, I walked into a room and saw Dr. Blanchard for a total of two minutes. I had several issues that I wanted to address today. I told him about the first one, so he gave me a prescription and left. He didn't even give me the chance to tell him the rest of my concerns. I would rather my money go to someone else anyway.
