Dr. Lydia Matkovich, MD

My mother has been seeing this doctor for years but has cut ties after dealing with Dr. Matkovich's ugly temper. I am livid that this doctor yelled at my sweet 82-year-old mother, who already was stressed out from her glaucoma issues. My mom said she has heard her shouting at other patients from the waiting room several times and the office staff seems afraid of her. Her husband is the office manager so that’s why she gets away with treating people so unprofessionally. Also, I accompanied my mother to an appointment once and Dr. Matkovich went on and on about how little she is paid due to most of her patients being on Medi-Cal. This doctor has a bad attitude so she needs to retire and/or take anger management classes. Her behavior is rude and totally unprofessional.

I've had double vision for about a year. Three other ophthalmologists were unable to help me. Dr. Matkovich was able to diagnose the cause and prescribed special glasses that completely solved all my vision problems. And it only took her less that 15 minutes to do it.

Dr. Matkovich was efficient and to the point. Her explanation of treatment options and rationale was thorough and to the point. She entertained questions and took extra time with explanations. I would highly recommend her for complicated glaucoma cases with cataracts.

Dr. Matkovich has been a blessing to me. She is very direct but also very reassuring. She is very bright, thorough, really knows her business and very, very good at what she does. I am so grateful I was referred to her.

My likes the clerk and tech were pleasant, my dislike Dr. Matkovich is very very rude, unprofessional and unkind person. I will never recommend anyone to her office. I have worked with the best doctor's and never experience that type of behavior in my life. Oh don't call her miss call her doctor. Dr. Matkovich is all about a title that will run out one day. And last when Dr. Matkovich goes off on you she never takes responsibility for her actions you are the problem.

Great Doctor.. one of the ones that take time and listen to you

This doctor may know what she is doing but she is rude, impatient, RUDE, unkind, RUDE, nasty, RUDE! When she speaks to the patient, she doesn't look at the patient in the eye. She talks to the driver who brings the patient in. Who knows if that drive is a family member or not???? If you are older, she assumes you have memory impairment. She lacks realizing that some older people do not hear as well and their questions are to verify they understand the information. She doesn't take the time to listen to the patient and their concerns. Always in a hurry and doesn't mind yelling at you. I would never go to her! I was the driver and not a family member and she yelled at me and told me the patient should not be living alone and taking care of her medication. The patient is quite capable but the doctor is under the assumption that she is not. What comes around goes around in life...I feel sorry for you, Dr. Matkovich.

The doctor is distracted easily and is very judgmental.

Because of her I don't have any vision in my left eye.She lacks professionalism and is a heartless Doctor
