SHES RUDE !!!!!!!!!!

I recently visited Willowbrook Methodist OBED where Dr Sims treated me for the second time. After talking to several patient liaisons after my first encounter with her I was hoping my second experience would be better but it was just as bad. Dr Sims started off seeming like she was trying to listen and care but very quickly spiraled from there. She made a very condescending comment at one point and towards the end of my care walked out of the room while I was trying to have an educated conversation about my care. She apparently doesn’t see the need to listen to a patients health history before making brash decisions. She is the most unprofessional doctor I have ever been treated by. Overall she doesn’t listen, makes brash decisions, doesn’t explain the care she’s going to give, has zero patience for any questions, etc. I also feel terrible for the nurses that have to work with her. Thankfully the nurse that was caring for me, made up for a lot of her lack of care.

After waiting several hours for emergency care, she arrived quite arrogantly and quickly determined I was just having dramatic issues with my period. She was interrupted by the ER doctor with all of my testing results, and quickly added that I was having some problems and would need to see a specialist soon. I didn't even realize how serious it was until I got home and looked over my test results myself! She also humiliated me be not properly covering me with the screen open, and was extremely rude to the nursing assistant. I hope I never have to see her again.

Went into L&D because my regular OB doctor told me to due to my symptoms of intense itching and pelvic pain. This doctor asked me why I came in, in a way that came across as “why are you wasting my time.” She completely ignored my pelvic pain and said “you’re pregnant, it’s normal.” My other doctor took 10 minutes to care and diagnosed me with SPD, and gave me a pelvic belt to help with the pain. She is rude, uncaring, and condescending and would rather get you out of her face than try to help you.

She is to the point which I love she can also makes pretty funny jokes which to me makes her bedside manner absolutely wonderful!! I’m am so grateful she was assigned to me she helped me and found out what was wrong with me when no one else knew I’m so grateful I am!! she really help/saved me now I get to go home tomorrow and be with my family because of dr. Sims I cannot thank her enough

Dr Lydia Simms is a straightforward, honest, caring, and highly professional specialist. She makes me feel that I am in the best of care, and follows that up with taking care of my needs and concerns. For any woman needing an OB/GYN, I highly recommend Dr Lydia Simms.

Does not express a caring attitude. Not helpful. Abrupt to the point of disrespectful.

I picked Dr. Sims off of the Cigna website list of OB's not knowing what I was getting myself into. This is my first pregnancy and should have been a good experience. Long story short Dr. Lydia Sims gets 2 thumbs down for bed side manner. She made me feel so bad about myself by her comments and I am pretty sure her staff (who was actually friendlier then her) would hear her thru the thin walls. I dreaded every appointment with her after my very first appointment I ever had. I am a heavy set woman and in good health. All test results would always come out great, blood pressure perfect, no diabetes, or any health issues besides water weight gain and swelling. Dr. Sims made it a point to highlight how big I was at every appointment and how much weight I was gaining. Even basically told me I lied when she was asking me what it was I was eating every day. And yes I understand the dangers of being heavy but there are other ways of speaking to your patients in a kind manner. I am not sure… if she just doesn't like bigger woman but from the get go it seemed my weight was a big issue to her. I finally got enough nerve to change my OB towards the middle of my 2nd trimester. I would get a printout from Dr. Sims of the current appointment and never noticed that she continued to highlight the fact that I was obese at the beginning of pregnancy. RUDE!!!!! Now I am on my 3rd trimester and all is well just the swelling of the legs and ankles. Baby and myself are in great health and doing my weekly checkups with my current OB who I should have gone to at the beginning. He doesn't highlight my weight but makes sure to bring up that water weight is a lot to do with the gaining of weight and gives me options like swimming and natural ways to lower the swelling and water weight, and congratulates me when my vitals are good every visit. I really suggest that people ask around first for an OB and not choose doctors from a list. You may end up with an OB like Dr. Sims :(

Absolutely love her! Wouldn't go to any other ob/GYN.

She is awesome! I'm hope she is the one delivering my son.
