Dr. Manuel Arturo Espinel, MD

Went for my "annual wellness visit." He reviewed my blood work and never even examined me. No words!

Dr espinal is hospitalist at Delray Medical Center who could care less for the patients assigned to him or at least that is my experience. His Physicians Asst seems to be knowledgeable and kind and caring and spends some time. . He waltzes into the room spends 10-20 seconds and leaves. He is a useless addition to my team of wonderful doctors and nursing staff. I am merely a number to him - a number with adequate insurance with insurance.

I was admitted to the ER having had stroke-like symptoms. My primary care physician is not on staff at Delray medical center- great ER -awful hospital. He was the assigned Internist.I am the daughter of a prominent internist(deceased) and I am in the MDVIP program with a brilliant doctor.This Espinel character laughed at my blood pressure perscriptions and medical history. My blood pressure soared as no medication had been given or even BP reading taken since the previous evening as it was now 11 Am the day after admission. Hypertension is my medical issue.My husband brought my meds and we got out of that horrific place. I am happy to report that I am fine.This character evidently gets patients who have no doctor. I pity them.

Doctor Espinel has presided over the fastest decline of a patient in medical history. At the beginning of my father's stay at Medicana Rehab Center, Dad was lucid and upbeat and could get in and out of the bathroom with little help. It's now five months since Dad has been under Dr. Espinel's care. Dad is clinically depressed, withdrawn, uncooperative, and now completely incontinent. When calls are put to his office to discuss the situation, Dr. Espinel ignores them. All human beings must be treated on the assumption that the body is a projection of the mind and under its control. Doctors ignorant of the mind's role in somatic medicine should not be licensed to practice medicine in any US state. Like many of his colleagues elsewhere, Dr. Espinel belongs in that group.
