Dr. Marc Joseph Billings, DO

In December 2022, Dr. Billings performed a laminectomy and I want to fully recommend him to anyone that needs such care. He fully explained each step in the process and after the procedure he communicated effectively with me to ensure I was healing well and making continued progress. He was always clear and interested in my concerns. He did not over promise and explained the recovery timeline. The facilities and staff at Cascade Brain and Spine Center were exceptional and eased any concerns I might have had. I would again consult with Dr. Billings should I ever again need neurological care.

Dr. Marc Billings completed surgery on 3-18-22 for my ruptured disc. Clinic is spotless and all staff are awesome. Surgery went as planned and I'm finally pain free for the first time in 4 months. Surgery kept getting delayed because of COVID. Never want this injury type again and if I do first doctor I'll contact is Dr Billings. 5 plus stars feeling awesome.

I dealt with sciatica for many years and knew full well the width, depth, breath, and scope of the symptoms and ever-draining degrees and locations of the pain it brought. The pain itself was often incapacitating and completely prevented me from being able to sit down (which meant I was unable to drive a vehicle to get to work) and stand for extended periods. Being an active and avid outdoorsman who works out six days a week with weights and aerobics, this felt like a death sentence. Every visit to other doctors undoubtedly brought the same result: prescription for pills (pain pills, oral steroids, etc.) and / or referral for physical therapy. Over the years there were three times when the pain in my foot and leg was so severe that I received a steroid / cortisone shot in my spine. Although the first two shots did get me back on my feet, they were only temporary and simply masked the real cause of the pain. I attacked physical therapy with a vengeance to strengthen my core,… midsection, and lower back. This is what actually helped me hold off the inevitable for quite some time. I am a HUGE fan of physical therapy and follow a strict regimen of good nutrition and exercise. Unfortunately, the decades of hard physical labor did take its toll (I built log homes for 30 years). I was earnestly looking for a permanent solution to my sciatic pain – NOT another prescription for pills and referral to physical therapy. I eventually got to the point where the pain was so intense that I was bedridden. I could neither sit down nor stand without the aid of crutches. All I could do was lay on the couch in pain, stare at the ceiling, and watch my life pass by - Day after day. It was at this absolute low point that I was referred to Dr Marc Billings. Little did I know but my life was about to change. When we met, Marc was the consummate professional: courteous, polite, friendly, sympathetic, and attentively listened as I explained what I was going through. He then showed me the MRI of my lower spine and pointed out the exact spot where my sciatic nerve was being compressed – causing exactly the pain and discomfort I had just described. Then came the most incredible news! Dr Billings said the problem could be solved with a relatively simple, non-invasive surgery. At this point I was ready to cut my own foot off from the pain and was fearful how far out it would be to schedule surgery. We were right in the middle of the COVID pandemic and hospitals were at capacity. Dr. Billings was so receptive to my situation and took it upon himself to rearrange his schedule to help me. His team worked with my insurance company to push through the approval for my surgery. They got me set up and prepped for the surgery -COVID testing, pain meds, info on the procedure and recovery. They even managed to get me in the following week! Well, long story short, I walked into surgery on crutches, and I walked out on my own two feet – free of the pain I had been dealing with for years! Recovery was quick (three months from surgery to back to normal) and now I’m back in the saddle and living life again. I’m working out with a renewed intensity and continue to do everything I can to be proactive and overall body health. My only question is: How do you thank someone who gives you your life back and takes away years of pain. Thank you Dr Marc Billings! God Bless You!

Dr. Billings has been amazing. I was thoroughly impressed during my first visit with him. He took the time to fully explain my situation and options. I was in need of surgery and he expedited the process and had me scheduled within one week. The surgery went better than I could have expected. My pain was gone and function restored.
