Dr. Marcella Ann Madera, MD

Expertise is the field is most important, but second would be compassion. I unfortunately have a back disease that required two surgeries...BOTH of which Dr. Madera performed. I can not say enough about her skills, compassion, and bedside manner. She is more thorough than any doctor I have known. The women cares about her patients. She asks questions, follows up, and even hugs me every time I see her. I have recommended her to two others that are facing possible spine surgery. Some people were just born to be in the field they are in, and she definitely makes a difference in people's lives by helping them have a better quality of life for years to come.

I have to give Dr. Marcella Madera as good a review as is possible. When I was referred to her I was in severe and unremitting pain. She took me through the necessary imaging studies to determine that surgery was medically necessary: a sequestered disc at T12/L1 was causing pressure on the spinal cord. She is highly trained (Johns Hopkins) and she is also skilled at explaining potential risks and rewards for what to me seemed a scary and concerning condition. Her bedside manner is great! She is respectful and kind and willing to listen to all questions. Her support staff is professional, helpful, courteous. I would give five stars to this practice even if I didn't have such good results, but I'm happy to say that I have experienced 100 percent cessation of all pain. Awesome people.

Dr. Madera got me in quickly, was spot on with my diagnosis and scheduled my surgery promptly so I would have time to recover to make a family vacation. I have complete confidence in her and her staff and am very thankful to be well again.
