Dr. Robert Buchanan, MD

Dr Buchanan recently performed surgery on me. I am very happy with the outcome. He answered all questions and explained the procedure in a way that was easily understood. He is very friendly and even has a nice sense of humor. I highly recommend him.

Again, where to begin... Dr. Buchanan was there for us, and solved yet another crisis for my daughter. I cannot thank him enough!! Seriously, She has a medication pump and was due for her 7 year “battery change.” She was on the schedule with her pain physician for over a month and was cancelled 2 days prior to surgery, which is another story. After scheduling an appointment with Dr. Buchanan, with the wonderful office staff, I recall telling my daughter that we were putting Dr. Buchanan in a hard place because we were now in a crisis and prepared her for the possibility of him not being able to do a last minute surgery and that he may have to refer her to another colleague. Well..... why I ever doubted that he would not be able to perform this surgery for her is beyond me!! We went to her scheduled visit, in a matter of a few minutes, as he so kindly and caringly realized how emergent this surgery had become, he looked at Rachel, PA and asked if they could do it the next… day!! However, they had a big case on Tuesday, but scheduled her for Wednesday... did I mention that her appt was Monday?! He labeled her surgery as emergent(as it had become),had the scheduler in the exam room within 5 minutes and we were set! All taken care of in the blink of an eye! A very pleasant experience in a high anxiety state!! I will also add that withdrawal from a medication pump can be extremely detrimental and I was terrified of something going wrong up to this point, I did not elaborate to my daughter just how bad things could get, withdrawal symptoms alone were enough for her ... the minute I knew that my daughter was scheduled for surgery and Dr. Buchanan and Rachel, PA “were on the case”..... I felt a feeling of calmness, I think I finally had my first good nights sleep throughout this process, and I’m sure my daughter did as well. We were beyond blessed and so very thankful!! The surgery went extremely well and both Dr. Buchanan and Rachel,PA made sure that they made this surgery as easy and comfortable as possible for my daughter. The little things make such big differences!!! I want to thank Dr. Buchanan and Rachel Rutledge, PA for being so amazingly awesome and always taking such wonderful care of my daughter!! I owe them BIG!! Again, thank you so much for saving the day!! You are so appreciated!!!!
