Dr. Margaret Rosanna Gray-Swain, MD

I was a patient of Dr. Gray for 4 years. She always seen to be late for the appointment and rushing to get the appointment done, I didn’t think much of it because she was nice enough and all my test results were ok. Turns out she didn’t notice a 10 cm fibroid in my uterus that I have to get removed in surgery a couple of months ago, definitely something should have been able to notice during any of my annual checks as another OBGYN found it right away and alert me of it. Definitely not going back to her found a different doctor, I do not recommend her to anyone, bad doctor.

Dr Gray-Swain is professional and courteous. She has great suggestions for common issues women face.

I cannot say enough kind words about Dr Gray-Swain. She's absolutely wonderful! Aside from her heart-felt bedside manner, she's extremely knowledgable and is always willing to spend more time talking with you if you have additional questions. No one loves going to the lady-doctor but I can't imagine going to another doctor and feeling as comfortable as I do when I walk through West End OBGYN's doors. I highly recommend Dr Gray-Swain.

Dr. Gray-Swain was my first Ob-Gyn when I moved to St. Louis and was my doctor for four years. She has a wonderful bedside manner and is very smart, professional and competent. However the practice is not well run, and I have recently switched to obstetrics and gynecology at the CAM at Barnes-Jewish. Specific complaints I had were that at every (yes, EVERY) visit I was left waiting for nearly an hour before the doctor would see me. Once the staff scheduled me for an appointment on a day that the office was closed (the door to the building was unlocked and I wandered through the darkened building to the office just to make sure it was actually closed, which it was). It was extremely difficult to get through on the phone to schedule appointments. The staff would give me conflicting information concerning things like when I was due for a well woman exam. Now that I have switched practices I have found it nearly impossible to get my records transferred over to my new doctor. It… was very disappointing after several weeks of calling and faxing medical release forms to show up at my first appointment with my new doctor and find out that they had never sent the information over as they had told me they would. In all, my experience with this practice was not a happy one.

entire staff was professional and courteous. I did not have to wait for the doctor, appointment was on time. doctor discussed everything with me prior to exam and after, I received 2 follow-up calls after the appointment concerning my care, I will be referring this doctor to anyone in need.

Dr Gray-Swain is always incredibly kind and prompt. She has you in and out within no-time but always has time to answer questions. I'm so happy I was referred to her. She has excellent bedside manner and is extremely knowledgeable.

I saw Dr. Gray-Swain over a course of a year. I thought she was nice and attentive, I was overall happy with her. Then, because of her staff (who are not exactly the friendliest, but I can look past that), they completely messed up some pretty important things. The first mess up was when one of my appointments was coded incorrectly and my insurance company refused to cover it, I had to battle the office's billing department and insurance company over three months to finally get it resolved. And the second mess up was I had arrived for a scheduled appointment, only to be told that it had been canceled, I did not received any sort of cancellation phone call...in fact, two days before the appointment, I got a call confirming it! I will never go back and I will NEVER refer them to anyone I know.

Horrible experience, disorganized practice, office personnel very rude. Dr. Gray-Swain likes to talk down to patient. Cannot recommend.

Best obgyn I have had in years. Staff was courteous, my wait time was very short and I didn't feel rushed when talking with Dr. Gray-Swain. She was very personable and I felt comfortable talking to her.

Dr. Gray-Swain is not only excellent at what she does, but she is pretty much brilliant in general. Just the kind of person I would trust with my health! She is completely focused on you while she is with you and never treats you like she has somewhere better to be (as many doctors do). She is extremely thorough - nothing gets past her, and she is always able to fix any issues I am having. Her bedside manner is great and it is obvious that she loves practicing medicine. She is absolutely one of the best OBGYNs St. Louis has to offer, and I have and will continue to recommend her to the most important women in my life! In fact, I referred my sister to her - she is extremely picky about OBGYNs - and she adores her! Dr. Gray-Swain is an excellent physician, and with the added bonus of access to Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University's research, you can't go wrong!!
