Dr. Margarette Damas, MD

I would not recommend this neurologist to anyone and would advise anyone seeking a neurologist to keep looking. Apart from her unacceptable rude and dismisive bedside manner....there was no clear explanation provided for the medical reason for the multiple ischemic stroke suffered while in hospital. The source of my blot clot was of no concern to her. She literally sent me to a psychologist when I pressed for answers to post stroke migranes during my first and last visit to her private very small office. Yes stress may be a factor but there was a clear medical reason that, thankfully, another well informed caring neurologist has placed me under further medical treatment and better medication while the exact source and reason is being properly studied and treated medically. I have placed a formal complaint in writing to the hospital administration where she is affiliated. Do not recommend!

I do not doubt that Ms. Damas is smart, as she is very-well credentialed, but her bedside manner left a lot to be desired. She didn't so much as review a chart before coming in to advise on my family member's medical condition. She also clutched her purse tightly the entire time. She was ready to dismiss our family member that night without reading his MRI. When I asked her to read the MRI, she arrogantly responded that the MRI wasn't going to have anything to do with his arm (he was experience numbness in one arm). After I insisted that she first read the MRI before deciding to send him home, she came back and said that she did see from the MRI that he did in fact have a stroke. She gave no explanation as to what may have caused the stroke until I asked, and even then the explanation was extremely incoherent. P.S. she advised a patient who was two weeks into recovery from open heart surgery to go have a hamburger, medium-rare.

I WENT TO A HOSPITAL AND I WAS VERY SICK AND THE OTHER DRS. GAVE ME MEDS BUT IT DIDN'T HELP SO THEY SEND FOR DR.MARGARETTE DAMAS I WAS ADMITTED AT THAT TIME WHEN SHE SAY ME I GOT SOME MEDS AND WITHIN AHOUR I FEET BETTER TO GO HOME.THE MEDS I GOT FROM HER IS THE ONLD MEDS THAT HELP ME. THANK GOD FOR HER.

This doctor saw my mother in hospital. She has a terribe bedside manner...didn't seem to care at all and didn't give any information to me unless I squeezed it out of her. Not recommended at all.

This doctor was so full of herself, and not at all interested in actually analyzing my problem. She saw me briefly once, and sent me on my way. I went to another neurologist, who discovered that I had multiple sclerosis and I'm now doing well on treatment.
