Dr. Marie Alana Dauenhauer, MD

Dr. Dauenhauer is amazing. At several different appointments she accurately diagnosed my children as she barely walked in the room. Dr. Dauenhauer is extremely friendly and kind. She is prompt, efficient and spot-on with her diagnoses. Her appointment calendar does get booked up, so make your appointment far in advance like we do. Her nurse is very friendly too, as well as her receptionist. A couple of times when I called I got a general Aurora on-call receptionist at an unknown location who wasn't as nice, but be assured that Dr. Dauenhauer's own staff is great. I do get follow up calls a few weeks after appointments and it seems that nurse Debbie truly cares. Over the years I have seen numerous different dermatologists and Dr. Dauenhauer is by far the best. I would gladly drive my children a lot further than our current 35 minute commute for an appointment with her.

I am an established patient of 5+ years and had an urgent issue related to a lesion causing extreme pain. I called the office asking to be seen or at least speak with a nurse or Dr. Dauenhauer. I was rudely told that the first available appointment was 2 months away. I asked then to speak with a doctor or nurse. I was told I would receive a call back. It has been 3 weeks and still no call back. I will NOT be going back.

I just made a call to schedule my college age daughter to see Dr. Marie for recheck in dermatology. I was shocked at how rude the person who answered the phone was...she couldn't spew out fast enough that there was no openings until mid September. When I explained that my daughter was an established patient and needed a recheck for her acne and that she was having a bad bout of it currently, I explained I'd hoped to get in next Mon. or Wed. and she said "well number 1 she's not here on Mondays and Wednesdays"....just came across as combative, non-helpful, unpersonable, rude and in no way wanted to assist me with the situation I had. My dauther is over 500 miles away when attending college and she is in need of Rx refills and a consultation as what she is using it not working for her at this time. I don't need to beg to see a physician with a receptionist that is doing everything in her power to put me off.Very disappointed in this transaction.

I was 30 minutes for my 1st appointment because I got lost, coming in from a different area of the county than I would usually travel. I called a couple of times to advise the office of my 'lost' status. They were extremely nice (I was extremely embarrassed.) Dr. Dauenhauer was very friendly and professional, talked to me and asked questions without appearing to be in a hurry. As usual with the Aurora Docs, she was efficient, called me back when she said she would and was really reassuring. My daughter is one of her patients and recommended her highly, and for good reason.

Dr. Dauenhauer, is very caring, thorough, and knowledgeable. I have had several skin cancers removed by her and pre-cancerous lesions treated and/or watched. I have full confidence in Dr. Dauenhauer ability as an excellent dermatologist.
