great doctor, long waits

Dr. Marina Sobol has been a true life saver for me. I am a chronic migraine sufferer for more than 4o years. I had depleted all resources when I first meet her and literally cried in her office. She worked with me trying various medicines, Botox and now Aimovig. She never gave up on me and was always available (giving me her cellphone number. I went from 27-29 migraines a month to 2-3. You may have to wait to get in but that is because she spends at least an hour with you. Call ahead of appointment to see if she is on time. Thank you Dr. Sobol!

Dr Marina Sobol is an extremely attentive Doctor that takes the time necessary to really understand her patients and their conditions. I was a patient of hers for many years after having brain surgery for Chiari. I was dealing with terrible migraines and we worked through medications until we found the right mix. As the years went on the migraines grew further apart and we slowly decreased the mess. I am no longer seeing her regularly, but would highly recommend her to anyone.

This is based on one visit to her office. She was very thorough and spent quality time with my mother.

I was in the ICU section of JFK and Dr. Sobo came to visit me for my breathing difficulties. I have MS and I have been on Prednisone for some time now to stabilize my breathing. I have diabetes in addition to MS so I am always watching my diet. Recently, I have had some treatments where a high dose of steroids was administered to me intravenously so that I could clear my lungs and breathe again. Anyway, Dr. Sobo is the visiting doctor in JFK and she told me I needed to cut out all carbs and lose the small amount of weight that I had gained immediately. After she abruptly left, I followed up with my other doctors and was told that I am not obese and my weight was not a high concern at the moment. I want to write this review for others that Dr. Sobo has seen and had a complete disconnection with the actual patient's real condition. I need help to get my MS under control, not to starve myself and have my sugars go out of control.

Dr. Marina is amazing. Yes you do have to wait some time but its worth it. She spends so much time with you and doesn't let you leave til you fully understand what is going on. I recommend her to everyone

There is a long wait to get an appt with Dr. Sobel. This is due to her being so good at what she does. The moment she sits down she says," I want to know everything!". She is a great listener and problem solver. She is caring and curious, meaning she wants to get to the source of your problem. She will order tests in order to accurately diagnose you. She will give you a program to follow when you are done. And most of all, she is compassionate and very reassuring. You will be in good hands with her. She does run late due to her being very busy and thorough. If you call the office before you leave they will tell you how long the wait is, she is usually only an hour behind.
