Dr. Mark Miles Barret, MD

I had heard awesome things about Dr. Barret. After my son turned a year old we changed doctors. He made me cry at our very first doctor's appointment with him. He made me feel like a bad mom. I never felt like I could comfortably talk to him without being judged. My son was sick and we asked him to delay one round of vaccine until our son was better and Dr. Barret refused. When we brought up an issue we saw in our son, Dr. Barret always ignored it. When we went to a different doctor we did not even mention the issue and the doctor immediately noticed it and said that it was a problem. For a year, Dr. Barret overlooked the problem and told us it was fine. I am so glad we changed doctors. I wish we would have done it sooner.

A couple I knew recommended him singing his praises, but my experience with him was horrible. First, he never prayed with my child as I had been told he did with many others. Second, he never spent more than 3-4 min talking to me after the exam which my son screamed thru the entire time. In a year worth of visits, the only time he ever really made eye contact with me was to call me stupid when i refused to vaccinate me child when he had a cold. He was completely unprofessional to say the least, plus thru out my son's first year I didn't feel his weight gain was enough and he would just ignore my concerns. My husband didn't like him from the first visit.....I should have listened to my gut because I did't get a good feeling from him either,and I completely regret putting my son in his care that first year. I think he picks and chooses which patients he shows his good side to.

We love Dr. B and would never consider taking our son anywhere else. The very first visit he asked if he could pray for our son, and from that moment on I was sold. There is nothing more comforting than knowing that he seeks God's guidance and wisdom when caring for our son and countless others. My son had a very difficult first three months and when everyone else said that he just had colic, Dr. B listened to me and took the steps needed to rule out something more serious. His direction led to a much needed surgery that my son had to have in order to get the nutrition he needed. Dr. B even called me on his day off to reassure me that our son's surgery was not uncommon and even gave me his personal number to call if we had any questions over the weekend. When we got to Children's we were told many times how lucky we were to have a Dr. that knew what he was doing and acted early to prevent any greater weight loss for our son. Dr. B is awesome and always speaks and interacts with… our son at every visit and always takes the time to listen to our questions and concerns. We have been so blessed to have Dr. B & would recommend him to anyone!

I have 4 children and Dr. Barret has cared for our family for 10 years. We live further away from his practice than we did when the oldest was born, but the kids wouldn't hear of it when I mentioned maybe finding a closer doctor. He has always been caring & professional & has capably treated all of our illnesses and issues.

We have Dr. b for 15 years. He is an awesome doctor. Always listens and gives me an option in what we should do to treat my children. My children love Dr. b
