Dr. Mark Joseph Cannizzaro, MD

I met with Dr. Mark over multiple sessions and have found him helpful and insightful. I have no negative things to say about Dr. Mark. He is professional, personable, caring, and credible. I would recommend Dr. Mark above any other provider that I have used/know of.

I can only speak for myself. He did an outstanding job. He represented my family extremely well. He stood up for us when other we're running scared. Again, I can only speak for myself as a Christian man. Thank you.

I cannot believe he has the where-withal to continue to practice in Greater Lansing and the surrounding areas. Dr. Cannizzaro is extremely narcissistic and hides behind the cloak of religion. He will do whatever it takes to further his agenda; usually being supportive of the party that pays. One is better taking their issues to the grave versus ever divulging any information to him. He has no problem speaking of clients to other clients breaching patient/client confidentiality (HIPPA). If he’s this free to speak in session, I cannot imagine what he says outside of the office. He’s extremely unprofessional and equates himself as equivalent to a medical physician. Words of warning, be careful what is said to Mark, he will subject his unsubstantiated opinions and comments to the demise of the client. He doesn’t just need the ordered supervision he’s under, but counseling for his own deep seeded issues.

Not helpful

Dr. Cannizarro is not helpful. He likes to talk a lot about himself and pays little attention to what you are saying or going through. He turns everything you say onto himself and makes it all about HIM!!! I also found him untrustworthy. He does not keep anything your share with him confidential, and if you're not careful, he will make fun of you and belittle you!

this comment is accurately correct, I could have not put this into better words , he finds what suits him and not anyone involved. He shares personal stories about other patients with you and also tells your EX the specific things the children have said to him in confidence which creates extreme choas...."I would like to warn any family with any kind of relational, psychological, or any kind of problems to STAY AWAY. Dr C is extremely manipulative, and no matter what side you think he’s on or he says he’s on, he will pit everyone against eachother for a chaotic and mentally abusive situation. He changes your words around to confuse and discredit yourself and judgement. Extremely unethical, is not aware when to make explicit comments and ignorant of any personal boundaries you may have. If he gets put on your case, RUN. The time I had to see him was the worst years of my life. I hope you never have to see this man for more than a few seconds in your entire life."

I would like to start off by thanking Dr. Cannazzarro for all his help and guidance on numerous occasions. He went over and above to help many of our situations by being available, offering advice, and helping with future planning. I highly recommend Dr. C for any and all situations. He is extremely knowledgeable, caring, and sympathetic. Dr. C and the staff at Lansing Psychological Associates are true professionals. Again, thank you Dr. C and staff for all your hard work and professionalism.

Driven by ego and financial gain.

Reading all of these negative reviews makes my heart heavy because Dr. Mark impacted my life in such a positive way. Some reviews look to be biased because of court cases not going in the way that the patient would have liked - completely out of Dr. Marks control. My personal experience was fantastic. I began seeing Dr. Mark when I was only 19 years old and continued to see him for about 5 years and only stopped because I moved out of state. He helped me in SO MANY challenging chapters of my life. Dr. Mark helped me deal with my lack of confidence (finding where that stemmed from), helped me in dealing with the lack of love I was shown as a child from my mom and step-dad, gave me the courage to reach out to my biological father (and the rest of his family who were told by my biological father to never talk to me). He spent YEARS working with me on the relationship that I longed to have with my biological father - this included meeting with my biological father and his wife on multiple… occasions (they drove 2-hours to meet with him). Unfortunately, my biological father did not want a relationship with me in the end which was heartbreaking for me, but Dr. Mark helped me through that. After many sessions with him, I accepted that I wouldn't have a relationship with my biological father but he didn't stop at that. We actually worked to establish a relationship with other members of my fathers family that DID want a relationship with me. Again, my father was NOT okay with this, so it was a really touchy situation for a long time. But in the end, I was able to have a close relationship with 3 of his siblings (my aunts and uncles) and their family (cousins I never knew existed)! I would have never had the courage or confidence to get through this hard time in my life without him and his guidance. He never TOLD me what I needed to do, he only guided me to make the best decisions for myself. Obviously, there are a lot more details that go into my story, but I wanted to share parts of it to show what a positive impact Dr. Mark had on my life in such a touch situation. I am lucky to have crossed paths with him. He truly wants the best for anyone that he meets and has such a big heart. If you get the chance to work with him, consider yourself lucky.
