Dr. Mark Gimbel

OK, I am going to put this right out front -- you should NEVER, EVER (EVER) make medical decisions based on anonymous online reviews from strangers. NEVER. I mean seriously....think about this for a second. Whether a review is 5 stars or 1 star, are you REALLY going to give any weight to the opinions of complete strangers when making a decision about something as important as your health? We are not talking about buying a toaster on Amazon here. So really, I can't stress this strongly enough -- if you have a serious medical condition and you're trying to find a good doctor, I think you are doing yourself a HUGE disservice if you base any part of your decision on anonymous online reviews from strangers. NOW, having said that, I was recently diagnosed with melanoma and the random pot-luck of my health insurance machine sent me to Dr. Mark Gimbel (not Gimbal). I am giving him a 5-star review because the guy seriously deserves it. Dr. Gimbel is smart, friendly, explains things… clearly, and is willing to take as long as necessary to answer any questions you have. Better yet, Dr. Gimbel gave me the four words that any/every cancer wants to hear following treatment: "You are cancer free." Again, while I strongly endorse Dr. Gimbel and hope you have an equally great experience with him (or whoever you choose for treatment), I can't stress this point enough -- DO NOT rely on anonymous online reviews when choosing a doctor. That is simply crazy.

Dr. Gimbel took the time to answer all of my questions and address my concerns. He was very friendly, thorough and professional. I would highly recommend him. His office staff is wonderful too.

The professionalism Dr. Gimbel showed was amazing. From explaining the procedure beforehand, to the actual surgery and then the follow up was all a comforting experience. Dr. Gimbel Dr. Mark and the staff as well, treated me like family and had my best interest at heart. Would trust and will seek them out if any future procedures are needed..

You could not ask for a more compassionate, friendly, calming, skilled surgeon than Dr. Mark Gimbel. His staff and colleagues are equally as wonderful.

He cut out a tumor in my leg. Because of the extant of the cancer there was always a danger of losing my leg, and he told me that drop-foot was inevitable because of the nerve that had to be taken out. I have more function in my leg now than I thought I would have, and I think other doctors would have just removed my leg. In my opinion, he saved my leg.
