Dr. Mark Alan Mccurdy, MD

I have been with Dr McCurdy for several years and I couldn't be happier with treatment and absolute concern he has for his patients. I have referred several of my closest friends and family to him. Knowledge and bed side manner is a strong suit. Never heard a complaint from anyone..

I wish I was involved in the consult. I sat there waiting and was never invited back. I had many questions and concerns regarding my husband’s vasectomy. I regretfully signed the papers and am now devastated. I wish someone had prepared me for the emotional reaction and change in feeling towards certain things before agreeing. Please involve the spouses before anything is done. I’ll never get that back.

I do not understand the negative comments. I've been with Dr. McCurdy for years and have received nothing but the best treatment. He cares about you.

Excellent doctor and staff.

Had a PSA well within normal parameters (2.7) but Dr. Mccurdy recommended that I do a biopsy anyway. Biopsy went fine but I got an infection which put me in the emergency room and home with a catheter. Dr. Mccurdy was upset that the Dr. on call hadn't had me admitted and told me that he would have. He took the catheter out and the next day I was back in the ER and home with another catheter. Mccurdy insisted that I take 6 weeks of antibiotics but only wrote an Rx for 4 weeks? I called the office 3 times to get him to call in two more weeks worth but never received a call back. Finally changed Dr's and the new Dr. said that I definitely need the antibiotic for two more weeks and wrote a Rx for me. Found out later that Mccurdy has a history of unnecessary biopsys. If you use him good luck! Don't expect much from the staff, and question everything! I personally recommend that you get a second opinion if he recommends a biopsy.

Had a terrible experience with Dr. McCurdy. Wanted to perform a needless biopsy of the prostate. Of course, I walked out of his office. Ask about getting a PCA3 test instead. If your urologist is not familiar with the latest techniques for diagnosing p cancer, and avoiding needless biopsy, then see another doctor. Spends more time with the drug reps than with his patients. Do not let this many anywhere near your prostate! PSA test has a very high rate of false positives - creates revenue stream for urologists.

I felt real comfortable around him and he explained everything in detail and helped me understand what was going on. He even gave examples and called me in a perscription and said if I needed anything else to let him know.
