Dr. Mark Lowell Nystrom

Dr. Nystrom performed my total knee replacement in 2009. After a YEAR of being told that I was unable to walk properly was because I was being lazy and not doing my exercises and PT. He came up with every excuse and reason to blame ME for being unable to walk. A year later, Kaiser sends me to a new Dr. who does a cat scan and instantly sees that the knee components were put into my leg incorrectly. Perhaps Nystrom could have found his error if he had ordered a cat scan???? Instead, he just blamed me. :( So finally the new Dr. removed the TKA and replaced it. My leg will always be messed up now, due to the damage of trying to walk on it for a year with knee components put in wrong. Nystrom has a God complex...he KNOWS he is perfect and if something is wrong....it HAS to be the patients fault. So sad that Kaiser continues to allow him to practice medicine! I've bumped into others that had him perform surgery and they are just as upset as I am....this Dr. needs to be stopped!… :(

Was referred to Dr Nystrom because GP suspected FAI in hip. Immediately upon meeting Dr Nystrom, he said xray was good, GP doesn't know, and maybe I am imagining the pain. Sent me for contrast MRI, said MRI was perfect, and after watching me walk and finally asking about symptoms, he diagnosed me with bursitis. After losing my job because the treatment failed, I lost my insurance and had to switch Drs. After looking at original MRI and xray, which laberal tears are visibly present, new Dr has diagnosed me with GP's original suspicion, FAI. During the past few months, I have attempted to resume normal life activities that my hip pain caused me to lose. New Dr said some of the activities have caused even more damage. Dr Nystrom failed to read MRI films correctly, he failed to diagnose me correctly. He treated me for a condition that I dont have and when i didnt improve, said "oh well, it is what it is." He refused to even consider GPs opinion, he is very abrupt and made me feel… stupid.
