Dr. Mark S Schickendantz

I would not recommend Dr. Schickendantz. There are other excellent orthopedics surgeons and it would be best to find another. I went to him for a 2nd opinion regarding an old shoulder injury and pain. He spent barely 5 minutes with me after I waited almost an hour after my appointment time to see him. He was very short when he spoke to me, dismissive of why I was there or anything I had to say, and basically said there is nothing he could do for me and had no recommendations. His manner was so cold and unkind and made me feel like I was bothering him or wasting his time. He himself did not do an exam nor did he go over or talk about the X-rays I had done prior to the appointment. Surprisingly he noted that he did both in my chart. When I started to tear up after the way he was treating me he very curtly turned around and walked out of the room. He may have a reputation as an excellent surgeon but his bedside manner was horrendous and cruel. I left the office in complete tears and… still he said nothing.

Highly recommend Dr Schickendanz! Diagnosed with a Shoulder Impingement! Prescribed PT and progressing very well! Saved me from Shots and MRI's!

First, for the guy giving the "bad" reviews, he's talking about some other person (look at the name in his first review...it's NOT Dr. Schickendantz). Dr. Schickendantz did a wonderful job fixing my shoulder which had already had one other failed surgery by another doctor..

I highly recommend this top notch surgeon! Just after 120 days from date of surgery I was able to pickup (by myself) and bathe my 3 french bulldogs! I have total range of motion back, and I am back to pumping iron! Great surgeon and listening to him and his staff has made my recovery better than I even expected. If I ever have to have the other shoulder done, I know where I'm going! Hope he doesn't retire first!!

My rotator cuff surgery back in 2005 was a success and I have not had any issues to date!

It was many years ago (15+), but he saved me from unnecessary knee replacement surgery. I had gone to him for a second opinion. He drained it, gave me a shot of cortisone and 6 weeks of PT and I was good to go!
