Mark Weisman Jr. JR., MD

Dr. Mark Weisman is a board-certified psychiatrist who provides outpatient behavioral health care for adults. He specializes in medication management and psychotherapy for mood and anxiety disorders, including mood and anxiety disorders, trauma-related disorders, and peripartum challenges. He also has extensive experience with transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS).
What is your patient care philosophy?I believe that my role as a psychiatrist is to serve as a guide and advisor and that my patients should be empowered to self-advocate and ultimately steer the direction of their own treatment. I believe in educating my patients and walking along the path to better mental health alongside them.
What would you like people to know about you as physician/provider?In addition to making evidence-based recommendations for medication and other biological treatments for my patients, I like to incorporate psychotherapy as much as possible into my visits with my patients, as I find that the …majority patients appreciate and benefit from this, and I, too, enjoy the interactions in psychotherapy. What do you enjoy most about working with patients?While I enjoy the everyday interactions and challenges in problem solving, my favorite aspect of being a psychiatrist is the wonderful feeling that comes from watching patients make significant and meaningful changes that improve the quality of their lives, relationships, and work. Would you like to share about your family? My wife and I have been married since 1999 and have a son who is on the autism spectrum. We also have two lovely ragdoll cats.
