Dr. Markel Lael Owens, MD

This is the first time I felt the need to leave a review but I am disappointed with a treatment by this office. In the past I have always liked this office and have seen both doctors. I had let my yearly exam go and was considered a new patient again. While juggling Three other doctors appointments for three surgeries fir my husband and zi both and yearly dental and vision exams also I wrote the wrong time down for my appointment. (This was my error) Word of warning: don’t miss an appointment or you will be told you have to find another doctor as they will refuse making another appointment at their location and leave you with finding another doctor to go to. Somehow that just doesn’t seem very professional for a medical office policy. Granted that it was my mistake but to be told they will not ever see you again for one missed appointment seems very harsh and shocking. Sorry to have to leave this review but others should be warned of this office policy so it doesn’t happen to them.

Excellent Doctor!!

Referred by friend to this office and Dr Owens was great. Concerned about customer service. I have called at least 8 times over the last month and each time got a recording to leave a message because of a "high call volume". Website says they are accepting new patients, but there doesn't seem to be enough admin staff to handle calls/appointments. I finally left message and was called back at the end of the day. Was supposed to receive a call within 2-3 days of a test to get test results and schedule follow-up; I called 5 days after test results were to be completed. Had some insurance questions regarding follow-up treatment options...been waiting 4 days for someone to get back with me. Tried to call but...you guessed it, there was "a high call volume" so I needed to leave a message.

Her very personal and compassionate approach when discussing health concerns is refreshing. She is much appreciated.

Dr. Owens is a very compassionate doctor. She spends plenty of time with her patients and explains things in great detail. As for the office staff, I must say they are extremely nice and helpful from the first phone call for an appointment, nurses putting you in the room, and check out desk. I will recommend this office to all of my friends and family.
