Dr. Marlon Elliott Everett, MD

Beware of this doctor. My mother had a heart attack. She came to Trinity Hospital to be treated because this is were she always came for treatment through her insurance company which was Cigna. My mother had emergency surgery. This doctor was assigned to her. He performed a partial stint surgery. My mother stated that when she began to wake up out of her anesthesia in the operating room. She over heard the doctor being asked, "If he was going to address the other blood vessel that needed a stint while she was open?" Dr. Everett stated "No! I will have her come back to get it done." He was in hopes of charging her insurance twice for two different surgeries. When he later checked on my mother after the surgery, Dr. Everett made sure that he asked if she had insurance. My guess would be, he noticed that her insurance status had changed when trying to bill Cigna. When my mother told him that she was just recently laid off her job, He became nonchalant towards her needs and… walked out of her room. When she contacted his office for a follow-up, he and his staff treated my mother like she was inferior and less than a human being. Prior to this emergency my mother had applied through the state for insurance and was waiting for coverage. The hospital staff was helpful in additional assists with this process. She ended up getting coverage, nevertheless, Dr. Everett and his staff disposition towards the treatment of my mother continued to be appalling. He discouraged her from seeing him at all. His office is extremely unprofessional. And I do not recommend this doctor to anyone. I will be taking this further to find out if this goes against ethics. If I could rate a zero, I would, but it does not give me that option.

Dr Everett is a kind man with great knowledge.
