Dr. M Elizabeth Ruiz Wilfong, DO

Dr. Wilfong came recommended by a friend who had a very positive experience, so I gave her the benefit of the doubt after my initial impression was not good. I had a uterine biopsy done and it was one of the most painful procedures I have ever experienced. I nearly passed out. This was not the first time I had a biopsy, but it did not hurt the first time. She told me that it shouldn't hurt, and acted as if I was perhaps a hypochondriac. I am about the furthest thing from that, and a very healthy individual so I went online and read. Turns out that it can be very painful for many and not for some. After a week I was still in pain, it in fact had gotten worse and I was running a fever. She saw me again and ran some tests which I found out were really unnecessary as they were for STD's and she insinuated that was likely the cause of the infection. I was more than a little taken aback, but as it would happen I had not had intercourse in a very long time and had had a full screening, so… that was not the case. I thought this cold suggestion might be a way of her trying to protect herself from lawsuit because we live in a sue happy world?? I couldn't imagine why she acted the way she did. I was prescribed antibiotics and unfortunately have gotten worse. I don't know what to do. I called and she was terrible. She suggested I take pepto bismal. Still in shock. And quite ill. I do not take writing this publicly lightly.

I didn't have a good experience with this doctor or the office overall. Waited forever to see the doctor, and once I finally got into the room I felt like she was in a hurry to get somewhere else. Just didn't feel like I mattered. Won't be going back there.

Moving to such a small town was a huge step for me, and when I went to get tested after breaking up with my boyfriend, it became exceptionally hard after testing positive for H2. Dr. Wilfong was amazing though! Exceptionally caring, from start to finish, she's incredibly on top of things! It's obvious she cares about her patients, no matter what background, but she is so professional, I felt I was really being treated top notch. She's great at keeping up with her patients- calling them back especially.I really suggest her to anyone, young or old, she's definitely a keeper!
