Dr. Marthel Elena Parsons, MD

I've been seeing Dr Parsons for over 8 years. She is an incredible physician and has helped me so much with my anxiety and depression. She is truly caring and a hidden treasure amonst the multitude of psychiatrists I have encountered. A++

Our average wait time was about 2 and a half hours. She was never professional, if we ever had a question about my husband's medication, she would always just say "who's the doctor here?". She cares much more about filling her quotas with her suppliers (Pushing pills that had no known medical effect with my husbands condition because the supplier was pushing them and we know this because the pills she was pushing were the same ones branded on all of her clipboards and some of her other equipment). Just overall a bad experience that has pushed us away from psychiatrists. If you're having real issues don't bother coming here, she'll only make them worse. I'm frankly surprised she still has a license. And she has a tendency to make her staff post positive reviews of her practice, I've seen several that were almost word-for-word how she described her practice and working habits. BEWARE!

Dr. Parsons is simply the best psychiatrist I have ever had (26 years of ongoing therapy- 12 with Dr. Parsons). She takes a holistic approach (very uncommon for a Psychiatrist) and takes the time required to correctly diagnose/treat. You will not find anyone better----believe me....I've been to more than 15.

Dr Parsons extraordinaire. Absolutely the best. Spends as much time as needed to help patients through crisis. Very concerned about patients mind, and physical condition. I would highly recommend her her as one of the best.Her focus is on the patient as a whole.

Dr. Parsons is one of too few thorough doctors I would highly recommend to any person needing a psychiatrist. She takes time to listen, and understand your needs vs. many others psychiatrist I've seen that say "Hi, how are you, write prescriptions, your rushed out of their office in 15 minutes, and tell you schedule your next appointment in 3 months". Dr. Parsons is the complete opposite. After your appointment, she always tells you to call immediately if you need to see her prior to your next scheduled appointment. She genuinely cares about her patients, and is highly knowledgeable from A-Z health issues. Personally, I had dealt with nausea ever day of my life from the age of 8 into my 30's. I would be physically sick every morning before school, and work. When I had a social event to attend I would be sick to my stomach, and become an introvert. Over half the time I would make excuses to not attend. Previous doctors would say "I had a nervous stomach" and send me on my way without… any assistance to my health issue. The first visit I had with Dr. Parsons due to my stomach issue she prescribed me a rx (not a controlled substance), and I have never been sick to my stomach since. She is truly one of a kind, caring, and an exceptional doctor. I'm finding her traits as a physician extinct in other doctors/practices these days.

She recently accepted a position at a hospital up north. never got to my appointment, never got a call back and still haven't. that was last month. Now in limbo but will not go back to her even if they called me back

I went to see Dr.Parson's about half a dozen times in the past year. Ultimately I feel as though I am back at square one. The drugs she prescribed me did nothing to help me yet were full of bad side effects. When I explained this to her she yelled at me and accused me of not being serious about my treatment. One of the drugs nearly turned me into a diabetic and the other caused me to sleep over 16 hours a day yet they did not help my condition any. I felt as if I was getting worse. Every time I've been to her office I've waited over an hour and a half, sometimes two. The office is not professional looking at all and the staff is not friendly. I feel there is no respect for the patient at her business. Who wants to sit in a dingy office with dirty furniture and a rude staff and wait two hours to see a doctor who criticizes them? Do yourself a favor and find another doctor.

I've been to see doctor Parsons four times. Every time I have waited over and hour and a half (sometimes longer) after my appointment time to get into see her. The last time I waited over two hours and walked out and her office staff had the nerve to send me a letter in the mail charging me for a missed appointment. Excuse me? I believe Dr. Parsons is the one who missed the appointment, not me. I hope it goes into collections and goes to court so I can say what an unprofessional business she is running. She also does not listen to her patients. She talks more about herself than anything else and does not listen to her patients. I was prescribed a drug that turned me into a zombie (I could not function at work) and stopped taking it only to be yelled at her for stopping it. She is very stubborn and does not listen. Why would any doctor want me to be so drugged that I am unable to function? I did not have a good experience with Dr.Parsons and she did nothing for my recovery. Her office… staff is also very rude and the waiting room is dingy and full of old, dirty decorations and furniture.

Before Dr. Parson i had seen 5 other doctors over the last 15 years for depression, anxiety, unemployment off and on, along with alcoholism. Finally with Dr. Parsons over the the last year or two with medication and therapy i am working, not drinking and my anxiety is under control. I finally have my live back and Dr. Parsons makes it very clear that she is committed %100 to me to make sure my live continues in a very positive way. Me and my family are extremely grateful to her!!!!
