Dr. Mary Jane Major, MD

Dr. Major has been my internist for almost as long as she has been practicing. I used to like her a lot. Very direct style. Didn't dumb any explanations down. But the practice she was in was small, and she actually saw her patients. GIMG is a factory. The doctors rarely see patients. And, now that I'm older, I would like a doctor who is willing to consider alternative treatments. Dr. Major is very traditional. And the directness I used to like comes off like "you're an idiot" most of the time. I really need a new doctor.

This fine doctor sets the example for any other doctors meeting the overall medical evaluations or examinations needed by the patient. I have been under the professional medical care of Dr. Major since 1988 or so. She has shown great skill, understanding and patience with me all of these years. I am afraid to have another doctor care for my medical care at this time. I do not seem to be just a patient on an assembly line check. I like her a lot and trust her medical judgement woman to woman.

Dr.Major spent 40 minutes with me, after I only waited 10 minutes. She is thorough, thoughtful, and offered great practical suggestions as well as clinical advice.

r. Major's office staff is not friendly nor efficient. They are abrupt and rude. It is now such a large practice that even those that draw blood for blood work are interns and completely uninformed and unpracticed. It's really a disgrace how this office is managed. Dr. Major and Dr. Rubin who established the practice are obviously too busy to make sure that the front desk and all their employees treat patients with respect. Dr. Major has been told about the rude behavior of her office staff many times, but clearly hasn't made any changes. Dr. Major is probably close to retirement and seems less involved with her patients. Perhaps when her last child graduates from university/graduate school she'll finally retire! Best to look for another practice where patients are treated well and courteously.
