Dr. Mary Susan Shuman, MD

Dr. Shuman is a very caring and personable doctor. She delivered my youngest son and I have been seeing her ever since for annual appointments and any problems. Although her office is very busy, I believe that is a sign of how knowledgable she is and also the time that she takes with each patient to make them feel comfortable. I have talked to other patients of hers and they wouldn't dream of seeing any other doctor. There are plenty of other OB/GYN's in the area and she is one of the most liked and sought after. I won't be seeing anyone else until she retires.

Dr. Shuman's body language indicates that she's in a hurry. During my 6 week post cesarean follow up, she simply just looked at my scar and I was on my way. Didn't ask about post-partem issues, pain, or bleeding. For as much trouble I went through making that app't, including bringing my baby along, the entire "exam" took 3 seconds. She's very knowledgeable, but not very warm. She didn't say one word to me while she performed my c-section. We didn't know the sex of the baby, so we were expecting an excited "it's a girl!", from her. Instead we just heard whispers from the operating room staff.
