Going to the doctor is always a nerve wracking experience. It’s even more nerve wracking when your new doctor prejudged the type of patient they think you are. Luckily I had just gotten insurance before seeing her because she spent at least 15 minutes complaining about my tactics to get results which was functional medicine blood work, saying that all this blood work was useless and I was getting ripped off by these people all while she rolled her chair very close to my face and waved the blood work papers very close to my face. Why someone would want to use that approach instead of compassion the first time meeting a patient is beyond me. She also did not ask any of the symptoms I was experiencing. She instead focused on the fact that I thought my previous blood work was pointing to my thyroid and she proceeded to tell me if that’s what I thought was wrong we would never find an answer. She continued to use her harsh, uncomforting tone as I cried out of frustration for being so… labeled and misunderstood in my pursuit to simply take steps to feel better. Last but not least I had a cortisol test which took 2 weeks to get the results back and another some other non complicated test results that I have still not received after three weeks despite calling four separate occasions. The person I talked to at the front desk said that was very unusual and she should have had those results much sooner. She also told me “ she took off Friday, but wasn’t really a day off because she usually worked from home”. Either they are overloading the doctors at Tryon medical partners or she is not doing a good job keeping up with her work. Either way she was overall very unkind and judgmental basing her previous experiences on the patient that I was.

Dr. Stowe is as professional and personable as they come! She treated my chronic shoulder pain with a steroid injection, then administered the same treatment to my knee two weeks later. Not only did she explain the medical science behind the cure, but she also gave me excellent tips on home remedies designed to avoid recurring flare-ups. Her unique blend of humor and medicine was right up my ally, and I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone in need of an excellent doctor!

If I could rate as 0 stars.... she dismissed my mother symptoms and said she has sinus infecton.....WTH..... her pain was in her leg and ribs.... another doctor ended up finding stage 4 cancer in the lungs that had spread to the brain and bones.... two months later.... horrible doctor

I have been a patient of Dr Mary Stowe for a number of years, I am native of Charlotte and I know of her good name. She is an excellent, compassionate physician who is a professional at what she does. I have recommended her to may people and they have been more than pleased with her care. Some of the negative comments on this site are suspicious and I have to wonder if an unhappy patient had their friends post derogatory remarks. Looks like posts were written by the same person.

Mary takes the time to listen to your concerns while she is actually examining you. She does not do unnecessary testing but is very thorough. I would recommend to any one.

I have been a patient of Dr Stowe's for a number of years. She is thorough, kind and always figures out what my issue is. Very nice woman and I'll continue to see her as long as she is practicing

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Dr. Mary Stowe spent 8 of my 10 minute visit complaining about the ACA and the coding changes versus giving me what was supposed to be a preventative visit. Only to find out she coded it an office visit because she had to refill a prescription. She then went on to "nicely" recommend I see another doctor because I am essentially young and healthy and the majority of her patients are older with multiple chronic conditions.......Just because you can't up-code a healthy person but try to get away with it by coding an office visit that costs me multiple hundred dollars to refill a script I've taken for years with no complications is ridiculous! Plan to be overbilled and plan to be a counselor to your provider that will spend the majority of your visit you're paying $$$ for to complain about the ACA and the coding reform.

I have seen Dr. Stowe for many years. In addition to tracking all the data about me and doing all the follow up for my health that a primary care physician must do, she has given me good practical advice for improving my overall health. She is a very competent physician.

Dr Stowe does not want any comments from patient other than the rigid "yes" or "no" formulated questions on her sheet. Poor listener; comes across as critical, condescending, and uncaring. I have an MBA, run a large customer service department; and would never allow anyone in my firm, who demonstrated such disrespect for the customer/patient to continue in their position. Mecklenburg Medical Group has a good reputation-but they risk it by allowing her to continue as a partner.

My primary care physician was out of town and the next available appointment at MMG was with Dr. Mary Stowe. She walked through the door complaining about her job; I literally had to ask her to stop. After listening to only two of my symptoms, she told me I needed to accept that I am getting older. She said my symptoms were in my head and gave me a lecture about how she has been "doing this a long time. Tests are unnecessary." I was in the ER less than 24 hours later. The ER docs ran tests and I was diagnosed with a serious condition that can be managed with medication.) I shared this experience with my AETNA case worker.
