I only went to Dr Devine, once, I did not choose him, but was assigned to him, at Highland Family Medicine. I have worked with hundreds of residents and attendings, and my experience with him, has been nothing short of a nightmare. He has taken over Highland Family Medicine, on S Clinton Ave. He is the medical director, after Dr Harp left. The first visit was enough for me, it appears he dislikes chronic pain patients, and uses tactics that have been proven not to work, it appears he has declared war on Chronic Pain Patients. It began as threats if you don't see this abuse person, I will not write prescriptions for pain meds. Comparing apples and oranges, such as the strength of oxycodone to morphine, he used this tactic, saying the 70 mg oxycodone I was taking was over 100mg, Began immediately threatening forced tapering, which has been proven wrong. The call center is alarming, and is dangerous way for a medical clinic to communicate, no one talks to each other only emails, my… guess patients are leaving in droves. Having a great deal of medical experience myself and a trained EMT, working in 3 hospitals one a teaching hospital working mostly in acute medical and Intensive Care Units, you get to size up a doctor pretty fast, usually residents. Before even looking at my medical records, it appears he has declared war on chronic pain patients, to use duress to attend a abuse counselor, and then see his office notes, I am thinking of taken legal action, for his comments that are not true, I have my medical records, and no where does an incident I had with a bad reaction, to tramadol, after years of taking it, every be taken as a drug overdose, by this statement I will take legal action, and this is after one visit. I knew it was a mistake. By the way I have researched the Medical Profession and Psychiatric Professions, enough to write a book, I actually have visited mental hospitals seeing a family member, and know the horrors that mental patients face in them. I also have worked on 4 psychiatric units, and did extensive research on Rochester Psychiatric Hospital, where the patient I visited could be labeled the most tortured mental patient in NYS. She made the big mistake of not reading the medical chart before we met, that is how psychiatric malpractice comes into play. I observed her, since his comments were not the truth, looks like she did not know how to read a psychiatric chart, and she was used to send Chronic Pain patients to, my guess everyone coming out of her office, she labeled an abuser. This is another tactic of Dr Devine. I am not your typical old lady that will accept duress, threats and coercion, as health care. I plan on legal action. I warn anyone who is a Chronic pain patient, not to seek help with him. I am in the processing of writing several books, the medical profession, and how to stay alive in a teaching hospital, and the secrets I have witnessed, as a trained EMT, I can only say this whole clinic, has become dangerous in my opinion. I have talked to other patients and they are trying to leave as well. We have two medical monopolies in Rochester, and try find any competition from the is almost impossible, pray they break up medical monopolies as they are a danger to the health of patients.
