Would never recommend him! No bed side manor! Only made me worse off then I was when I went in steered clear….

I'd give the guy no stars if I could. I have DDD and scoliosis. Went in for my DDD because its been getting worse and pain is constantly a 7 or higher. Homeboy came in, asked me questions and before I could even answer, he'd cut me off and basically tell me I was wrong. Spent maybe 3 minutes total in the room with me, and showed me my mri on his phone then left. Didn't explain anything to me. When my wife and I left, she noticed something on my paperwork that wasn't discussed with me. I also apparently have radiculopathy which is just nerve root stuff. But still. Had she not seen it, I wouldn't have ever seen it or known. He had no respect for me or my pain, zero bedside manor, cut me off multiple times and I'm pretty sure he thinks hes Gods gift to spines everywhere. I hope he reads this or is made aware of this review and changes his attitude. Will not ever recommend and I will tell as many people as I can to steer clear of him. Getting a second opinion as I feel I wasted my time… with him. He sure made me feel that way.

He saved my life. I had 3 back surgeries and was still in very much pain. He did surgery in 2013 and I'm not in pain.

Dr Berchuck repaired my broken back (L4-L5 lumbar) 14 years ago, when he was practicing here in Birmingham. All I can say is...his work is incredible. Now I need him again. A differentspine problem. Only wish he were still here in Alabama. Truly gifted surgeon.

This is the WORST doctor we have ever been to. My son recently suffered a fractured skull and C1 spinal fracture. We were told to set up a 2-week follow up appointment with Dr. Berchuck; so we did. The doctor walked into the room, told us about the fractures (which we already knew about), and said "wear the neck brace... see you in 3 more weeks". Not only did Dr. Berchuck not examine my son, he never touched my son AT ALL. How does he know if the fractures are healing properly? How does he know if the fractures are healing AT ALL?? When a patient tells a doctor his pain is still at a 7, three weeks after initial diagnosis, you'd think he would examine the patient ... have a conversation ... and maybe a little compassion. Not Dr. Berchuck. Worst bedside manner ever. And a waste of my hard earned money. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE doctor.

Terrible bedside manner and disappears after he has completed surgery. Our surgery was last Wednesday and we have not seen him since.

Dr. Matthew Berchuck is very knowledgeable and helps the patience to understand all of their options.

Dr. Berchuck did microscopic surgery on my herniated disc. The surgery was very successful and I'm pain free. He is compassionate and was very patient. I had several follow up visits and I would use him again.

As a first time patient, his staff arranged my appointment efficiently and even moved it up when another patient cancelled. Very short wait time and the Doctor was engaged, courteous and friendly. His office staff was first rate from beginning to end.

SPENDS EXTRA TIME AND GOES BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY.
