I came to see Dr Concannon with severe left wrist pain that was interfering with my sports activities as well as my computer work. Dr. Concannon came highly recommended from a friend and after doing some research, found out that hand problems/surgery is one of his specialties (he even wrote a textbook on it). Dr Concannon quickly and accurately diagnosed the problem (De Quervain's tenosynovitis). He took the time to explain exactly what was wrong, different options to treat the issue and answer all of my questions. I chose to have a short surgical procedure to address the issue. Even during the surgical procedure, he explained all that that he was doing and after 20 minutes, i was out the door. Two weeks later, i am back on my mountain bike and can work pain free at the computer again. Thanks Dr Concannon- You Rock!!!

I did a lot of research before deciding on Dr. Concannon and I am really glad I chose him. There are several surgeons closer to me, but I chose to drive an hour and a half to see him and have no regrets. I am thoroughly impressed with the results of my surgery. I know everyone thinks their surgeon is the best, and I am no different. I would have no trouble referring anyone I care about to this practice. The practice itself is run beautifully. The staff are flawless. I walked away from every interaction with them feeling more and more impressed. Betty is excellent, she really helped streamline the whole process and made sure I had all my questions answered and was comfortable with my decision.

Do not try and get the Concannon office to help you get breast augmentation if you are transgendered. I was flatly rejected to augment my naturally grown B cup breast simply because I am transgendered. Quote "Dr Concannon does do breast augmentations, however it is not his specialty to perform breast augmentations on transgender patients. This should be done by a physician that does them on a regular basis, and since Dr Concannon does not, that is why I suggested you search for a plastic surgeon that specializes in this field." His office handles gynecomastia on males, but will not augment a persons breasts if they have a Y chromosome. There is nothing different to augmenting a transwoman's breast from augmenting a ciswoman's breasts....

I searched for a plastic surgeon for years after giving birth to my last child, keeping various websites bookmarked in my computer, when I came across Dr. Concannon's website. I liked his educational background and experience, so I made an appointment. I live about 2 hours away from Columbia, but I'm glad I made the trip! What I found was a very intelligent, kind, mild-mannered and conscientious doctor who cares about his patients, the best individual results possible and overall safety. Dr. Concannon really takes his time and gives you something to think about in terms of various alternatives. He tailors his work to you and your goals. Dr. Concannon's work speaks for itself and is well worth the price. Whenever I show anyone my results, they may say that they have found a cheaper doctor but they will not say that the work/results are as good. Additionally, I believe that certain qualities in a person are unquantifiable; integrity, honesty, compassion etc. Dr. Concannon has these… qualities. I felt like I could trust him to do the best job. I highly recommend him to people who are looking for a quality doctor and great results. He's a wonderful doctor and an even better person.

I was told by the spa manager they could remove brown sun spots on my arms, legs and chest in 3 or 4 treatments. She was quite confident I would be "spotless" in no time. Since I was getting a lot of area treated, they "gave me a discount"--so off they went with my $2700. I did not get a contract-my stupidity I know--but she just seemed so darn sure. After she treated me 3 or 4 times, the results were very poor. She said she would try another time or two, but if the results didn't greatly improve she would work with me to refund money. When I went in for a subsequent appointment I was handed a letter stating she and many employees were no longer working there. The letter referred to questionable business practices and unauthorized deals. I was assured, however, they would make good on the deal I was made. After this really awkward spa moment, they seemed to have a procession of hiring and people leaving. I endured last minute cancellations and another 3 "highly trained" people… working on my body. With each new person I stated I would stick with it if they thought it would still work but since I was not getting results, perhaps it was time to talk. Each one said they had reviewed my chart and wanted to keep trying. About the time I was ready to say enough is enough (painful and lots of vacation time spent taking off work), I went for a scheduled appointment. Upon arrival I was told they would not see me that day because they wanted me to make yet another appointment with Dr. Concannon to see if there were other solutions for my skin. This was a first by the way. At no time during nearly a year's worth of bi-monthly treatments did any of the staff treating me see a need for a consult with the dear doctor. I took off work once again. I had hopes he would have a great idea to remove my spots or be willing to make some sort of partial financial compensation. Instead I got a very nice speech that in the end boiled down to this: Sorry, my bad, we had a rogue employee, she never should have told you what she said. With one glance of my skin he said my spots were too deep for that plan to work anyway. He obviously didn't realize that to me this meant four of his employees had wasted my time and caused me a year of painful treatments that were not going to work. My favorite piece of condescending advice is when he told me to stay out of the sun (I am not kidding). He ended with this-- we have given you more laser treatments than you paid for ( I suppose the pain and suffering was also on the house), oh and by the way, another person tried to sue us. Apparently they too were one of the "few" people like me who were promised the wrong treatment for the wrong price. I was told the person who tried to sue also didn't have a contract-so they too were out of luck. OH and to add insult to injury he said, but hey, I am not trying to say YOU were one of the people who made one of the questionable deals with the staff (wow, that never even occurred to me, thanks for clarifying that Doc). I was so stunned, I actually shook the guys hand and left. As I processed the conversation on the long drive back to work--it hit me--I just got played. They will never get another dime of my money.

First of all, Dr. Concannon is an amazing surgeon! He is very friendly and personable. I definitely felt like he cared about my recovery after surgery and followed up with me several times. I really like his staff and nurses as well. They are really genuine and helpful. I had never had any surgery done before so I was nervous but he made me feel comfortable and the surgery was painless. I'm so happy with my results and I think his price was reasonable. I will go to him for any other procedures I might need in the future. Very pleased!!
