Dr. Matthew James Deorio, MD

Dr. Deorio is a good Dr. Explains things well, answers all questions in terms you can understand. He has good assistants, You can tell he is busy because he seems rushed. Everything being said I wouldn’t trade him for anyone else.

I gave my review a three for the following reasons. I arrived 20 minutes early and was taken back to my room about 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment time which was fine. From that point it was over an hour before I saw the Dr. May have been a busy day, im not sure but once he arrived he was thorough in my diagnosis but it was definitely rushed. For what Healthcare costs I do not appreciate feeling rushed through my appointment. TOC in Huntsville is the best in my opinion still and I will be back, this is my third visit and the only time I've not had the service id come used to receiving there. Hopefully it was just a very busy day and not the new norm.

The doctor is great as well as the nurses BUT the wait times are awful though. Waited almost 2 hours just to be seen for 2 mins.

The ankle replacement was a great success. The new joint has made that ankle the "good ankle" after only 12 weeks! He also was able to schedule another specialist appointment and MRI, saving me some time.

Knowledgeable and to the point. I appreciate his honesty and direct nature.

Seems to have a ‘seasoned surgeon direct to the point’ energy, which could be intimidating to some if you don’t come prepared having thought through what you’re having addressed, what you want to get out of the appointment, & any other lingering questions. His speed in the room doesn’t necessarily allow a lot of time for thinking on the spot. This is where some may feel he can be dismissive & not as caring as they’d hope. I came with a 30 second SMART brief of my problem, which freed me from some likely anxiety of being rushed. I feel like he took the time to assess my X-rays, show me what was wrong with my feet, & talk me through some options - but not without some further exploratory questioning on my side. Bottom line: good doctor who knows a lot but he doesn’t know you, so you need to be assertive & come prepared.

I did not like today's visit he did not see me at all I left and just rescheduled my appointment. I was there 2:30 and I was still waiting at 4:15 and then it went to 4:30 so that's what I just left too much waiting time it's so ridiculous and disappointing. My appointment was 3:00 hoping that they would call me before then so I can wait another 15 or 30 minutes in the back room before he can see me that's the reason why I was there at 2:30 but it just went beyond 4:30 so I just left.

I am a retired board certified medical doctor. I have visited Dr deorio for two conditions which required surgery. I find him to be one of the top physians that I have ever known. He combines multiple essential skills to be a great doctor: he is knowledgeable, caring, sincere, and possesses exceptional technical competence. If you want to see someone who cares about you and can do an excellent job, this is your doctor.
