His bedside manner was appropriate considering his knowledge and supporting staff. He reconstructed my entire ankle, tibia, and fibula. His staff is amazing and Deorio is one of the top ankle specialists in Huntsville. I would highly recommend him.

Today was an office visit to figure out the next course of action. He covered the facts and what would probably happen in surgery but was very clear that until he gets in there it could be different. Very glad he was honest. We all want a doctor with a crystal ball. They don’t exist. So glad he was honest and feel good about procedure after talking with him. Now as stated he does talk fast but has a lot to cover. I have found it is always best to take someone with you to any doctor’s appointment. So with all that said really like him and feel good about my upcoming surgery.

Dr. DeOrio is clearly a knowledgeable physician and a skilled orthopedic surgeon, and I have confidence in his surgical abilities. However, my experience during office visits left much to be desired. Appointments often felt rushed, and he spoke very quickly, making it difficult to process the information being discussed. As a patient, it was discouraging to feel as though asking questions was an inconvenience or that my concerns were secondary. Medical appointments can be overwhelming, and patients rely on their physicians not only for treatment but also for guidance and reassurance. While I understand that some topics require firm and direct communication, bedside manner is equally important. Patient education can be delivered in a way that is both clear and compassionate. I also experienced appointments where the exam room door was left open. Even when the examination does not involve an intimate area, patients still deserve privacy and should feel that their dignity is… respected. My suggestion to Dr. DeOrio would be to slow down when explaining diagnoses, treatment options, and procedures. Medical terminology is important, but most patients do not have a medical background and need information presented in a way they can easily understand. If time constraints make lengthy discussions difficult, providing educational handouts for common diagnoses and procedures or having a nurse or staff member review the information afterward would greatly improve the patient experience. Based on my overall experience, while I respect Dr. DeOrio’s medical knowledge and surgical expertise, I would not personally recommend him to others seeking orthopedic care because the quality of patient communication and bedside manner is an important part of healthcare.

Super efficient, straight to the point and excellent speed of diagnosis-to-treatment. Offered options from least invasive to surgical. Incredibly skilled with a cortisone injection: no pain, great technique. Super friendly staff.

Dr. DeOrio is an excellent doctor. He takes time to explain everything in detail and give the right recommendations and what to expect. He is so knowledgeable and I trust him with my care. I highly recommend.

Dr. DeOrio was very kind, spent much time talking to me about my diagnosis of a bunion. He gave wonderful recommendations & info as to how to take care of it. Highly recommend!!

The staff was friendly and very helpful. They took down all my informstion and then I had xrays. When Dr Diorio had seen the xrays he came and explained what they showed and gave me a complete description of what needed to be done and what he would do to resolve the issue. He was honest about the outcome in that it couldn't go back to the orignal natural form but it would be much better than it has been in several years. I'm looking forward to having my surgery and getting back to my life. I highly recommend him.

Dr. DeOrio is THE BEST! I highly recommend him to anyone; you may have to wait and little longer BUT it is well worth waiting to see him. He did my left ankle replacement, and it was GREAT!! He knows his stuff!!
