Dr. Matthew Lee Robison, DO

Nightmare experience in the ER with this unprofessional Dr. My father arrived via ambulance needed a plural catheter (he had lung cancer) We had been waiting for the referral from his Dr. and we had an emergency situation after hours. He had been seen and told was getting admitted. Matthew Robison walks in and decided to review his whole situation and starts back tracking with condescending talk about how emaciated my father is and how he has no quality life . He asked “when was the last time you strolled with your wife”? What are you hoping to get here..you refused chemo? (After stating that chemo wasn’t a cure it is just given to patients to stall until there is an actual cure”). He lead with all the possible complications of a plural catheter and told him how dangerous and aggressive it is. It could break His ribs, puncture lungs etc. proceeded to call it a surgery (no procedure) and that he could die from it. Asked him why he would want it…it would only prolong his death as… then he’d actually die from “cancer”. Then he processed to pull his phone out and show us his mother’s brain scan and she just died from cancer. This lead to him drawing his lung cancer tumor on a white board. At this point I told him aggressively to get away from my parents and to get out of the room. He proceeded to talk about how hospice has a representative in the building that he could get right now and my Dad could sign up and go there that night. We explained that we will be doing home Hospice once we get the catheter in. My poor dad was so scared….his voice was exasperated and shaking. My father was in a dire situation needed his lungs drained and this man talked down to him for 90’minuues and refused to leave when asked. We had a plan for home hospice…they told us it was a good idea if he got this catheter prior to hospice so he could be more comfortable. When this dr finally felt he had mentally ambushed us enough he proceeded to tell us to say goodbye to hike bc he wouldn’t make it through the night. The next morning the surgeon met with my dad and reassured him that this was the right thing to do. He did the procedure and drained 1.5 liters out of his lungs. My dad could speak again and sit up and eat. What a difference. How is this Dr still practicing? His reviews are horrible and stating the same type of things that he did to my Father.
