Dr. Matthew D. Saltzman, MD

This is the worst Dr experience that I have ever went through. Dr Saltzman makes it clear he has no time for you like your bothering him from more important things. He rushes through the appointment doesn't take the time to listen to what you have to say about your injuries. And in turn he doesn't explain himself whatsoever. My visit with Dr Saltzman lasted a woping 2-5 minutes at the max. Stay away if at all possible.

Totally not worth your time and less you’re in the emergency room I would wait to see any other doctor he has zero bedside Manor and is rude for no reason

I saw Dr. Saltzman for a 2nd opinion on 2 surgeries I have already scheduled at another area hospital. Brought the MRI CD and reports which show I have a torn rotator cuff that needs to be repaired among other issues with my shoulder, along with my EMG report that shows I have Long Thoracic Nerve Palsy causing very painful scapular winging that I have been dealing with for just over a year now and the pain has been getting worse and unmanageable as of late. He had a student come in and get my history and collect my information and discuss the intolerable pain I have been dealing with for the past year and the student put my MRI pics up on the computer screen in the room. Dr. Saltzman finally came in and met me briefly, did a very brief exam, saw the winging scapula, where my pain was coming from, and told me I don't need surgery, I just need 6 more months of PT, he refused to give me a cortisone injection, and offered me nothing for relief of the pain that is becoming… intolerable. He didn't even look at the MRI's on the screen in the room and couldn't get out of the appointment room fast enough. He didn't have the time to show me where the rotator cuff tear is, how bad it is, and what is causing the shoulder pain, instability, and loss of motion. I have already had PT, it made the pain and instability worse, which is why I already have a surgery scheduled by another Dr. at another hospital but was referred for a 2nd opinion to Dr. Saltzman by another of my Docs. I was expecting the patient centric compassionate Doctor that he portrays in his YouTube video, but that is a fake persona. He didn't listen to my concerns, have empathy for the pain and loss of use of my arm, and just wanted me to go through 6 more months of PT when I already got a diagnosis of a torn rotator cuff and nerve palsy, did 2 months of PT and had to quit because it was too painful. I guess I was expecting one of those fantastic surgeons you come across that are great at dealing with people and do fantastic successful work. I think my case was too complicated for him and I will just have to go back to the original surgeon at the other hospital because I cannot live through another year of constant pain and sleepless nights. Wow this guy was very arrogant, didn't listen to my concerns, and made up his mind of what he wanted for me and was unwilling to work with me or listen to any of my concerns in any way, and refused to offer anything for pain relief, not even a suggestion. He just flat out refused surgery and there was nothing that would change his mind on the matter even though I had already been through PT and had no success. Avoid this "Doctor"

Had rotatory cuff surgery performed by Dr. Saltzman. He was excellent as was his PA Heather. He gets straight to the point, explained my options clearly and my surgery went great. Had heard horror stories about post-surgical recovery, however mine has proceeded ahead of schedule. Would highly recommend Dr. Saltzman.

I chose Dr. Saltzman other another doctor in a different network for a few reasons. 1) He recognized that I had a separate issue that needed to be resolved before he operated on me, 2) he focuses his practice on shoulders and 3) he was responsive, competent and understanding of my unique situation. I read the other review here that a different patient posted and my experience was positive in every way.

I have been seeing him and I think he is arrogant. and smug. He gets hostile if you question his opinion. His appointments are fast and doesn't listen to what the patient has to say.
