Dr. Matthew Edward Spector

Dr. Matthew Spector is a board-certified otolaryngologist who specializes in head and neck surgery. He earned his medical degree from Loyola University of Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and has dedicated 19 years to treating conditions affecting the ear, nose, throat, and related areas. Dr. Spector is fluent in both English and Chinese, enabling him to serve diverse patient populations.

Dr. Spector practices at multiple UPMC locations throughout Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as well as at the University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor, Michigan. His clinical expertise includes treating head and neck cancer and oral cancer. He performs specialized procedures such as fiberoptic pharyngoscopy to examine the throat and voice box, as well as flexible laryngoscopy to evaluate vocal cord function. Dr. Spector also incorporates speech therapy into his comprehensive treatment approach for patients recovering from throat and voice-related conditions.
