Dr. Max Vernon Wisgerhof II, MD

Dr. Wisgerhof is kind and professional. He asked me about my concerns, showed me blood tests and blood tests on his computer as he explained normal and abnormal results for pre-diabetes and a slightly enlarged thyroid lobe. He listened as I commented and answered all my questions in a timely manner. I know of his stellar reputation and expertise and will go to him again if suggested by my HAP Internist in the future.

He was not very caring or sensitive to my needs and his diagnosis was garbage!

Very professional. Very informative. Spent 45 min in the room with me. If you are looking for entertainment you will not find it here. Dr. Wisgerhof is business, and business is all I am interested in. He does not waste time with pleasantries. I respect that. I would recommend Dr. Wisgerhof to anyone who wants to know what is wrong with them. Thank you Dr. Wisgerhof

His staff is very courteous. I do have a problem with the Dr. I saw him for the first time and he diagnosed hypothyroid, put me on Levothyrine and made arrangements for followup. After only 8 days on the meds, I had excruiating abdominal pain and headaches. Went to my Primary Dr, she took a blood test indicating I was going into hyperthyroidism. Call Dr. Wisgerhof. He called me back and was extremely rude. He was not at all interested in my symtpoms or any blood test. He said "there are no side effects from my medication" and told me to just continue the meds. I am not seeing him and do not recommend him as a DR.

I am a 114 lb, 5" tall 22 year old girl. I came in for my hypothyroid condition. My medicine was not making me feel better and I was gaining some weight. My weight is still WELL within the healthy limit for my height, and I'm very active and athletic. He told me to QUOTE "Starve yourself to lose weight" that "excercise doesn't burn calories, just eat less". I told him I eat healthy and only 1200 calories a day he said to "cut it more, eat less". I told him I already get headaches from not eating enough and he said if I want to stop gaining weight I had to. My mom was appalled and we both left the room immediately. I wonder how many anorexic patients he has caused by his disgusting manner and suggestions. He should not be in practice.
